Erik walked into the church, a feeling of dejection settling over him. He passed some empty pews, his shoes slightly thudding with each step. He slid into one of the pews, silently and gracefully where a familiar figure was sitting.   “Took you long enough,” she spoke.    Erik tugged at his hair in slight irritation. “Sorry I’m late,” he mumbled.  Her eyes barely flickered in is direction as she asked, “So, why’d you drag me out here?” “I wanted to see how you were. You know, check up on you and whatnot.”  “Whatnot,” she repeated, sounding indifferent. “You’re joking, right?”  Erik’s brows furrowed in confusion. “No, I’m not.”  “I haven’t heard from you in days despite me trying to call you and leaving voice mails and when you finally do talk to me, you drag me all the way out here
