I woke up with a pounding headache. My body ached while my stomach churned. I prayed that I could walk far enough to the bathroom, if needed. I was weak and dehydrated so getting up was harder than I thought. But somehow, I managed. I was able to drag myself to the kitchen for some water. Vince stood by the freshly brewed pot of coffee, grabbing a mug from the cupboard. “Morning,” he greeted, glancing over his shoulder. “Morning,” I mumbled. “Coffee?” I sat down at the small, round table, cradling my head in my hands and closing my eyes. “Please,” I said, “and water.” Vince shuffled through the cupboard one more time before pouring a cup of coffee and setting in down in front of me. “Cream or sugar?” he asked.
