Kill
Milla Will POV
“Milla, where are you?” I shivered, my body aching as I pushed myself to run faster through the dense forest. Each step felt like a battle, but I couldn’t stop.
Austin’s voice echoed behind me, filled with anger and desperation. “Don’t you dare do this again, Milla!” His words fueled my determination despite the searing pain in my bare feet.
“If I catch you, it’s over,” he threatened, his voice sending chills down my spine. I stumbled, my legs giving way beneath me, but I couldn’t let him win. I had to escape.
Suddenly, he pounced on me, knocking me to the ground. My knee scraped against the rough ground, adding to the agony I was already enduring.
“Where do you think you can run to, Milla?” His voice was cold, filled with a twisted sense of possession.
I tried to speak, to plead with him, but my throat was raw and my words caught in my mouth. He pressed his finger against my lips, silencing me, his eyes filled with a dangerous intensity.
“Baby girl, have you forgotten the consequences?” His voice was a sinister whisper, his finger threatening to invade my mouth.
Fear gripped me as memories of his past actions flooded my mind. I needed to do something, anything, before he made it even worse.
He removed his finger, his gaze piercing into my soul. “Speak now!” he demanded, his wolfish nature threatening to consume me.
“I... I can’t do this, Austin,” I managed to choke out, my voice weak and trembling.
“Please understand. I’m begging you. I didn’t love you. This... this didn’t matter to me. You forced me into this. I would have died if it continued.”
His face contorted with anger, his grip on me tightening. “How can you not love me? What do I not have that he does? I could have given you everything. All you had to do was to be mine,” he spat, his rage boiling over.
Tears welled up in my eyes as I mustered the strength to respond. “I wanted to be with someone I truly loved. Nothing else mattered to me. You could have done whatever you wanted to me, but I would never have accepted you. I just wanted the man who held my heart. That’s all I had left.”
His expression twisted with a mix of frustration and disbelief. “Go!” he growled, his voice laced with a bitter resignation. “If you want to be free, then go to him.”
Confusion washed over me as he turned away, leaving me stunned and unsure of what to make of his sudden change.
Should I feel relief or fear at that moment?
“You broke my heart,” he muttered, his words filled with a haunting promise. “You’ll regret this. The Moon Goddess chose us, but you shattered everything. You’ll pay for what you’ve done.”
With those final words, he walked away, leaving me battered and bleeding. I struggled to my feet, my knees throbbing with pain. I had to reach Shawn, my love, before Austin changed his mind. I had to do something, anything, to protect our future.
After what felt like an eternity, I arrived at Shawn’s house, limping and exhausted. I fumbled with the door’s passcode, desperate to find him.
But as I entered the hallway, he was nowhere to be seen. Panic gripped me. What if Austin had already reached him? What if he had done something terrible? The thought sent shivers down my spine.
“Why did I fall for his trick?” I whispered, my heart sinking. “How could I be so foolish?” Time was running out, and I needed to find Shawn before it was too late. He held the key to my salvation, but would he be the hero I desperately needed?
Frantically, I searched, making my way towards his room, my heart pounding in my chest.
“Isn’t it the perfect time?” a soft voice whispered, barely audible.
I recognized Shawn’s voice, but there was something off about it. Something sinister.
“Kill Milla. She deserves it,” another voice hissed, sending a chill down my spine.
“I wanted to, but Austin got in the way. Otherwise, she would have been dead long ago. Just like she was wolfless, she could be lifeless too,” Shawn’s voice replied, filled with malice.
My legs turned to jelly, and I felt a wave of dizziness wash over me. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. My best friend, Shayna, was involved in this twisted plot. The people I trusted the most had become my worst enemies.
Before I could react, Shayna struck me with a bat, the pain searing through my skull. Blood filled my mouth as I cried out, my world spinning out of control.
“Why are you looking at me, you fool?” Shayna sneered, her voice dripping with venom.
I tried to focus on Shawn, hoping for a glimmer of humanity in his eyes. “I gave you everything, Shawn. My heart, my soul. Is this how you repay me?”
He chuckled, devoid of any remorse. “Who said I needed anything from you? All I wanted was for you to leave your pack for me.”
I stumbled. My body felt weak and battered. Darkness closed in around me as Shayna continued her assault, her curses echoing in my ears. I knew I was losing consciousness, my last thoughts filled with betrayal and despair.
As I faded into oblivion, I couldn’t help but think that this was the end. The end of everything.
