The never ending stack of papers on my desk told me how much I needed this time that I had set out. The anual Alphas meeting was 3 days away and for the 5th year in a row it was being held here at Opal Lake. I set out for my first task, the list for my guards to know who to be let in. I would not have a repeat of last year. The Alphas and their Betas along with whoever they felt like bringing. This year I asked for a list. Alpahs meetings were to be held between the Alphas and Betas of neighboring packs to decide our allies, those we were nutual with and those we could no longer rely on if the time came. At this time we had no immediate enemies. Typically the meeting moved from pack to pack to see how the others operate. But yet again they were coming to Opal Lake and I knew why. I am the first female Alpaha to come into this area. The Alphas always came to try and prove that I couldnt do it. They always left frustrated knowing that they were wrong. My father Alpah Thomas passed the pack to me when I turned 19. This usually goes to the Alphas oldest son. Due to an accident I was an only child. I grew up knowing one day I would be Alpha to Opal Lake and was so happy that day when my father passed the pack to me. When I had the list done for my guards I set it aside to conquer the next task, approval of the menu for the weekend. I was finishing up that task when there was a knock on my office door. "Come in." I said praying to the goddess above it wasnt another distraction. I looked up and saw my Beta Bryan walk in, "Oh your finally here to put in work." "Oh come on im here what do you need me to do first?" he said. I looked at him Bryan stood 6'7 with a muscualr build that would put any body builder to shame. His hazelnut colored hair always sat perfectly. His emerald eyes pulled in more of the Omagas in than he admitted. We had been bestfriends since we were pups. "Thank Goddes. Take this list to the guard for the Alphas meeting. Then take the finalized menu to Chef Gordon. Make sure to get with the Omagas about the guest rooms. Then come back there is plenty more to do." I told him as he collected the papers from me. "So many guests again." He said to no one I sighed and pressed tge beidge of my nose with my thumb and forefinger, "There still trying to mate me off. Bringing any unmated male they see fit to try the mate bond." He wasnt looking at me but I knew he could since my eye roll. He knew me better than anyone else and knew when I was being sarcastic. "Dont worry Pey. Well get through this." With that he left my office to do his tasks. I sent a mind link to Daniel my Gamma. Bryan and I are finalizing the Alphas meeting. Mindlink if you have an emergency but its all on you for now. No problem Peyton. I got this. My next task was going to take a while and I needed all of Bryans help.
