Chapter 2

After Jared took a shower and changed from his uniform to a black shirt and jeans, we got into his car and drove to Blades house, where the party will be held.
I didn't know him very well, all I was aware of was his constantly changing reputation. He's the bad boy in this school, the massive player, and also the enemy of our pack. His father was part of our pack when our parents were teenagers, but rebelled against them and decided to start his own.
And Blade, apparently, took in after his footsteps.
"Jared, are you sure we should be going to Blades house? He's our enemy."
"Don't worry, he said it's just a party, nothing else. Our parents don't know it's his party."
"but he's the enemy. It's wrong."
"I'll be by your side the whole time. Besides, everybody is going, humans and werewolves."
"still, of anything goes wrong, he'll kill us."
"why are you so worried? If you don't wanna go, it's alright, we can do something together."
"no, no, it's alright, I'm just paranoid."
"Em, you think too much, just enjoy."
"fine," I muttered, defeated.
We drove in Jared's jeep, John and Liza following behind us.
When we got there, Jared parked, ran out of the car and opened my door.
I rolled my eyes as he made me place my hands on his shoulders.
"We have to do this every time?" I asked, unable to stifle a smile.
He nodded," yes."
He placed his hands on my waist and lifted me up into the air, spinning me around like a child before planting my feet on the ground.
I giggled, feeling dizzy and clung into him.
He chuckled and kissed my forehead.
He suddenly grabbed my waist again and tipped me low to the side, causing me to shriek out loud.
"I love you," he whispered, against my lips.
"i love you too you jerk," I laughed, kissing him back.
We waited for John and Lisa, who arrived ten minutes after, both holding ice cream in their hands.
"your late," I said.
"we stopped for ice cream," shrugged John, sharing a secret glance with Lisa.
I laughed, not wanting to know what happened.
Jared grabbed my hands and led me into the mansion," we'll meet you guys inside!"
"okay," John said, already grabbing Lisa's waist.
"don't they get tired of kissing," I chuckled.
Jared sent me a naughty look," do we?"
I blushed and stood on my tippy toes, giving his cheek a small peck.
We headed further inside.
The room was dark with occasional multi-colored lights from the DJ and the disco ball.
People were pressed against each other, dancing rapidly.
They were all sweaty and loud, throwing their hands in the air and shouting lyrics.
Jared and I pushed through people and made our way towards the bar.
"one coke and one lemonade," ordered Jared, winking at me.
Only he would bother to remember my strong addiction to lemonade, I thought, swooningly.
The waiter handed us our drinks looking surprised.
Probably because every other student asked for vodka or a beer.
But me and Jared never really drank alcohol.
Mainly because we were underage and the first time we both tasted it, we had hated it.
Jared opened my can, not taking his eyes off of me.
I smiled looking down, embarrassed by the blush forming on my cheeks.
He always made me feel so perfect.
He placed his fingertips beneath my chin and lifted it," don't be shy. We've been together for two years."
"I can't help it," I said," you make me feel like i'm out of a fairytale."
"well, I'm reality," he smirked," and I'm here to stay."
After we both were done our drinks, I grabbed jared's hands and led him to the dance floor.
Luckily, a slow song was on.
Jared placed my hands on his shoulders and his hands on my waist.
He put his forehead to mines and began to rock us slowly.
He stared into my green eyes and I stared at his brown ones.
"your so gorgeous," he muttered.
I smiled at him and looked down, attempting to hide yet another blush.
His fingertips lifted my chin again and went back to my waist, causing me to shiver in pleasure," please don't look down. I love staring at your eyes."
I nodded slowly, feeling butterflies in my stomach.
Jared had to be the best thing that's happened to my life.
He made me feel like I'm the most beautiful girl on earth.
He treated me like a princess and clearly cared for me.
Every time he touched me, I'd tingle and burn pleasurably.
I couldn't ask for anything more.
Everything was just so perfect.
Jared pressed his lips to my forehead, causing me to close my eyes, almost losing myself.
He had to be my mate.
The next song was a fast, pop song that you dance to. Everybody threw their hands into the air, screaming lyrics out loud.
Jared and I danced for a little while before practically crawling out of the crowed and heading to the food tables.
He took two plates and handed me one.
"this is a lot of food," I laughed out loud, eyeing the multiple trays filled with stuff.
Jared grabbed some chips and put it on my plate," good, a man's gotta eat."
After filling our plates, we headed to the empty tables outside.
Jared grabbed a shovel and balanced it on the table. He put an orange on the front and brought his fist down on the end, flinging the fruit into the swimming pool.
It landed with a loud splash, wetting everybody around them, causing them to shriek. out.
I giggled ran away to the back with Jared, abandoning our food.
We reached Blades other side backyard and sat on the two-person swing.
When the party was over, Jared and I entered his car and drove away, not waiting for John and Lisa.
They'd probably stick around and make out for an hour.
Jared drove me home, opening my door for me and spinning me around.
I laughed as he set me down, and walked me to the door.
He turned me around and smirked before pressing his lips to mine, kissing me passionately.
I kissed him back, my arms resting around his neck.
He pulled back and smiled," I loved tonight."
I smiled and nodded," me too."
With one last peck, he headed back towards his car and waited until I unlocked the door and stepped inside.
"bye," I mouthed, waving my hands.
He smiled and waved back before driving away.
I shut the door and pressed my back against it, urging to go after him and kiss him again.
I noticed the house was very silent as I headed into my room.
It was only twelve. Where were mom and dad?
I looked out my window and saw two wolves running into the forest, nudging each other playfully.
That was mom and dad.
After stripping from my cloths and taking a shower, I put on some pajamas and headed into bed.
Suddenly, a 'ding' caught my attention.
I grabbed my phone and saw that it was a text from Jared.
'Goodnight.' it said.
I smiled and replied,'good night.'
Next morning, I woke up to the sound of my alarm clock.
I groaned loudly to myself, flinging the covers over.
DING
My eyes snapped to my phone where I had just gotten a new text.
'good morning'
Jared
I smiled to myself. He never forgot to text me everyday before bed and after.
I picked up my phone and wrote 'Happy Birthday!'
After my morning routine, I put on a pair of blue jeans, a tank top and a loose fitted t-shirt before grabbing my school bag and heading downstairs.
Mom and dad were sitting in the kitchen eating breakfast.
"good morning," I greeted happily.
"good morning," they replied.
"what time did you come home last night?" asked dad.
"twelve, only because there was a party."
"Emerald, I told you those parties are bad."
"but dad, it was Eric freeman's party," I lied.
"Eric Freeman? Jared's father's step nephew?"
"yes," I nodded.
He sigh," was Jared with you?"
I nodded again.
"honey your too attached to him. He may not be your mate," said mom.
I sigh,"Mom, he is. He has to be. I just know it."
"isnt he turning 18 tonight?"
"yeah, we'll find out if he's really my mate tonight, when he begins to shift."
"what does he think?"
"he says we have to be mates."
"guess we'll find out tonight," she muttered.
"does it hurt?" I asked.
"when you change? Yes it does. But with your mate there, you'll survive, he'll guide you through everything."
I nodded," Jared will be there for me."
Mom nodded," if that's how you feel."
"it is."
I grabbed an apple and headed outside to my car.
Jason, my older brother, was already gone, so I wouldn't be able to grab a ride from him.
I got to school the same time Jared did.
He ran to my car and opened the door, letting me out.
His hands wrapped around my waist as he pecked my lips and said," Good morning."
I giggled," good morning."
He took my hand in his and walked me to our group of friends.
John and Lisa were there, hand in hand and surprisingly, not kissing.
Some of his teammates were there too like Mark and Steve.
Than there was Hanna and Jack, also mates.
Our group was known as the second most popular.
But there were two kind of popular in this school.
Us, the nice ones who accepted everybody.
And than the shanks and players.
They stood about twenty meters away from us, laughing loudly amongst themselves.
All the guys were werewolves but all the girls were human.
The reason the players only wanted human girls because they can't mate with them.
They believed mating is wrong and sleeping around was right.
Their group had about fifteen people.
I recognized most guys from the lacrosse team like Marshal Evans and Blade Russell, the alpha of the enemy pack.
The girls were all dressed in crop tops and short skirts.
I rolled my eyes as Blade and some girl began to make out.
Jared's eyes glanced at me, flashing in concern.
I smiled and held his hands tighter.
He was truly to good to be true.
The bell finally rang, signaling the beginning of school. Jared walked me to my locker, gave my cheek a peck and headed to his.
I grabbed my stuff and waited for John to come so we'll walk to class together.
He finally came about three minutes later.
"ugh, you always take so long," I muttered.
He rolled his eyes and unlocked his locker," I walked Lisa to her locker."
"did you stop for a ten-minute make out session."
"the teacher caught us," he sigh.
"you guys are so in love," I laughed.
"you'll understand when you find your mate."
"I have, we just can't officially mate until he's eighteen, which is tonight."
"good luck."
