Chapter 1
Chapter One "Go Jared!" I screamed out loud, practically damaging my throat area. I'd probably lose my voice by tomorrow. "Go Jared! Whoo!" The slightly windy night only made the game more cliche. People clapped and sometimes booed. Lisa sat beside me, clearly searching for her mate, John, who's also my best friend. He got passed the ball than immediately tackled by the other team. She booed in disappointment and concern for John who stood up and flashed a promising smirk at her. She practically fainted. Her and John have been mates since last year and their love is as fresh as ever. It's almost like they grow to love each other more everyday. I smiled to myself, hoping that one day me and Jared will mate and love each other like Lisa and John. The audience suddenly stood up and cheered as loud as they can when Blade Russell scored a shot. I rolled my eyes, unconcerned for his shots and watched Jared. "Go Jared!" I screamed again. Out of all the cheering fan girls, he noticed me and sent a flirty wink my way. I giggled, sending him a soft, shy smile. From the corner of my eye, I noticed a girl shooting me a dirty look. I shrugged it off, seeing as I couldn't blame her. Jared was looking extremely mouthwatering in his red and black lacrosse uniform. And he was all mine. Fifteen minutes into the game, my stomach growled, warning me for food. "Lisa, I'll be right back," I said. She nodded, shooing me off. I quickly stood up, laughing to myself, and walked over crazy screaming fans, almost tripping on a can of coke in process. I reached the small canteen which smelt strongly of hot dogs and mustard. I ordered a small bag of chips and lemonade to satisfy my hunger for a little bit. After paying, I went back to my seat, having to slap away a foam finger which had been sprung in my face. The score was now thirty-nine to forty leaving us in lead. I watched as the ball was thrown to Jared and cheered. He easily caught it with his net and ran forward, dodging an attack from the other team. Determination was clear in his movements. Every step he took seemed to scream 'Im gonna make it!' "Go!" I screamed," Go Jared!" He kept running forward and forward, closer and closer to the net. Than, all of the sudden, a guy appeared from the side, slapping his body to jared's, causing him to come crashing down. The crowed cheered when the caption, Blade, got the ball again. He easily slipped between two guys trying to tackle him and shot the ball forward, but the goalie was able to catch it. The crowed booed and sat down. About ten minutes later, the scores became tied. This last shot wins the game. The ball was thrown to John. He ran forward, slapping his body to a guy attempting to tackle him, causing him to fall. John kept going, passing the ball to Blade. Blade ran forward, avoiding two guys from the other team and passed it to Jared. The crowed screamed the numbers backwards from the clock," 10, 9, 8!" Jared glanced at me. I smiled and nodded. He turned back and shot the ball forward, scoring into the net. I stood up and screamed as loudly as I can. "Yay! Jared!" The team carried both Blade and Jared on their shoulders, chanting their names. I laughed as Jared hopped off and ran towards me. Without hesitation, he grabbed my face and planted his lips on mine. I let out a mental sigh of happiness and kissed him back. He pulled away and rested his forehead on mines," thank you." "for what?" I asked, grinning. He shrugged," for coming. I know you hate lacrosse." I laughed," how can I hate it when my hunk of a boyfriend is in his uniform and playing." He laughed with me and cockily agreed. We walked towards the changing room, where all the guys stood. John and Lisa were still making out to the side, in a very compromising position. I rolled my eyes, stifling a giggle. "Hey guys," muttered Jared to his teammates, doing his guy handshakes with some. "nice shot tonight," complimented Mark. Jared glanced at me, his hands wrapping around mines and he muttered,"couldn't have done it without my amazing girlfriend." I blushed, and glanced down. "your whipped," laughed Jake. "just wait until you find your mate," said Jared. "You don't know if your mates yet. Your not eighteen." "I just know we are," he winked at me.
