A young man seemed very determined to succeed but life hasn't been fair. He was kidnapped as a toddler by his father's mistress who wanted to use his kidnap to get back to his father for dumping her. Things got out of hand that she had to dump the boy faraway from his family and ran off leaving the boy to his own fate. At the point of crying desperately,a young lady saw him and cared for him. Due to the bad weather,the young lady took pity on the poor boy and took him home. He was just three years old at the time,he couldn't say his parents name except his own names neither did he know his house address. No one could locate his family. Chapter 2 Martha had been taken care of Josh for sometime and thought of changing his name because she was a teacher and she needed to register him in the school where she teaches. His entire names changed and he started a whole new life. Years gone by and still there was no advert of a missing child from anyone so Martha decided to keep the child as her own. Benjamin(Josh) saw Martha as his biological mother and did everything necessary to make her happy. Meanwhile, Josh had a classmate who finds pleasure in bullying him. The bullying became so constant and harsh that Josh wished to quit school. He cried everyday to Martha hoping that something will be done. Chapter 3 Josh was in class when the bully walked in with his friends,they made fun of Josh and even flung his book away. Josh tried to fight back which angered the bully (Mark),he punched Josh in the nose and Josh started bleeding through the nose and the bullies made fun of him. Martha was going to check on Josh, when she saw what had happened,she scolded Mark and warned him to stay away from her son. Mark stood arrogantly and tried to hit Martha but couldn't because she was a teacher. As Martha accompanied Josh to the principal's office to report and clean Josh up,the bully had already deviced a plan to get back at Martha. Chapter 4 The next morning, Martha and Josh were about to enter the school premises when a car tried to run them over. 'Hey,are you crazy?watch where you're going', Martha said. She looked back and saw that it was Mark and his father who tried to kill them. Immediately,Mark rushed up to Martha and Josh crying and telling his dad that they both teamed up and beat him up. Martha was surprised and stunned at what she just heard but when she tried to explain, Mark's father slapped her across the face,held her neck and asked why she tried to kill his son. This attracted students and teachers in the school who waded in and suggested the matter be handled in the principal's office. On getting to the principal's office, Mark's father suggested that matter be fired for bullying and assaulting his son. Chapter 5 Martha tries to explain again but Mark's father slaps her again and asked why she and Josh tried to kill Mark in a deadly attack. The principal seeing Mark's black eye new there was something wrong and also knew Martha and Josh will never do a thing like that but Mark's father his one of the school's patron so he can make decisions to a fault. The principal told Mark's father that the issue will be resolved and proper measures will be taken. He exits the office leaving the principal,Martha and Josh. Chapter 6 It was their graduation to college and Josh had an excellent result which got him a full scholarship into college. Martha was pleased and proud as a mother because all her efforts didn't go in vain. Mark was more than delighted,however Mark's journey to college was the beginning of a life threatening challenge that was going to change his life. He was in his year one when he saw Mark again. Mark looking at Josh with disgusts said he was happy to be in college with and that he was going to be more brutal but what Mark doesn't know is that Josh is now a very strong boy. Josh laughed at Mark and left. Mark was stunned knowing that Josh never quivered but instead stood and faced him boldly. Chapter 7 Josh was outside with a friend when a lady walked past him,he admired her and walked up to her. The shy girl's family(Susan) are close to Mark's family but Susan never liked Mark due to his way of living. She became close to Josh and they became very good friends which didn't sit well with Josh so he thought of other ways to deal with Josh. One day, Josh was on his way home when a group of boys surrounded him,at first,he as scared but due to his bold and confident nature,he stood and watched all that was about to happen. Things got out of hand that one of the boy brought out a knife attempting to stab Josh when a man passing by brought out a gun and shot in the air,the boys ran away leaving Josh. The man walked up to Josh and asked what happened,he narrated the story and the man followed him home. He came to Josh's school the next day and told the principal about the incident but all fingers pointed at Mark who claimed not to know anything about the incident. He was called into detention and he was asked to bring his parents along with him to school. Chapter 8 Mark's father came to school arrogantly with the hope to put fear in the principal but all his efforts were in vain because the principal is a disciplined man. He told Mark's father to caution his son because so many people have been complaining about him and that if the bad behavior persists,he would be expelled. Mark's father got more furious on hearing this and decided to teacher Josh a lesson which Mark supported. They both left the principal's office and Mark's father asked him not to worry,he would handle the matter. Furious,he left the school but what he didn't know was that Josh was his biological son. Mark was the boy he adopted after his son (Josh) went missing. He was angry at the world and at the same time was depressed that he had to adopt Mark because he had almost same body features as Josh when he was small.As time went by,plans were made to teach Josh a lesson. Chapter 9 It was Josh's birthday,he was on his way back from the studio where he went to edit his past and present pictures in a frame when he was abducted by unknown men. He was tied up and locked in a room. He was beaten,starved and was also molested and he was just fourteen years. Mark came in,Josh heard his voice and he begged him but it was too late. Mark's father only wanted to get Josh beaten up but Mark got bigger plans.He was excited knowing that Josh was about to die,he told his father's boys to kill him and dispose his body because Josh had already heard his voice. Josh was severely beaten and stabbed,he was barely breathing at the time his body was about to be disposed but unfortunately,the back pack was mixed up. Mark mistakenly took Josh's backpack while Mark's was laying beside Josh's severed body. Chapter 10 Mark was extra ordinarily happy when he got home knowing he had gotten rid of his long time enemy. He dumped his bag and headed straight for the dining table,his dad surprised at the sound in his bag tried to check it but he was called to come and eat. At the dining table, Mark's father could perceive the smell of blood but when he asked Mark,he pretended not to smell anything. Mark didn't remove his bag from the living room but went ahead to sleep,he woke up screaming Josh's name which drew his father's attention. He told his dad that Josh was trying to kill him. His father told him not to worry that something will be done. Mark was scared that he couldn't sleep and begged his father to let him sleep in his room. Chapter 11 Mark and his father drove to school with the hope to warn Josh when Josh's mother ran into the school in tears telling them that Josh was brutally beaten and stabbed and he his lying unconscious in the emergency room. The principal and some of the school staffs heard this and swung into action after many days of looking for him. Mark's father hearing this took his son and drove back home. He panicked because he felt that he was the one responsible for it. At the time of pacing around the house,a group of police men came in for questioning. Mark's father was seen panicking and he asked what the problem was. The policemen told Mark's father that they had seen Mark's backpack near Josh's body by the road side. Mark insisted his bag has been with him,showing the policemen his bag. One of the men demanded they see the content of the bag he was carrying,and behold,it was Josh's frame which he had gone to collect before he was abducted. The policemen were stunned and convinced that Mark had a hand in Josh's attack. Mark tried to deny but the policemen already knew he had something to do with it. While Mark's father was scolding Mark for attempting to kill someone,Mark cried out too that his father was the one who initially abducted Josh and got him beaten up. Hearing this,the policemen arrested both father and son. Chapter 12 They were in separate rooms at the police station at the point of interrogation,one of the man showed Mark the picture collage of Josh,seeing Josh's childhood picture,he remembered he had seen that young face before but can't remember where. He tried to remember but couldn't. In the other room,Mark's father was asked why he tried to kill a young boy like Josh and he said arrogantly,' Josh was a threat to my son,I needed to teach him a lesson'. At this time,one of the policemen came in with Josh's photo collage and Mark's father saw it. In disbelieve,he asked where the frame came from and who the young boy in the picture was but he got no response. Josh's mother walked in the room furiously asking why both father and son hadn't been tried yet despite all the evidences. Chapter 13 Mark's father was still convinced that the boy in the picture was his long list biological son. He asked Martha if she was the boy's biological mother,she paused and asked why he cared to know? He told her that he had a son that was abducted many years ago and the young boy's picture looked exactly like his son. To be sure, Martha brought the picture frame to him again,this time he was convinced that Josh was his son.The policemen present were shocked. He even promised to show them the picture of his son. He told the policemen that his son's name was Josh Lawson. Hearing that name, Martha stood up in anger and declared Josh wasn't his son and that his name was Benjamin and not Josh. She didn't accept it because they would take Josh away from her so she refused to acknowledge the truth and left angrily. Chapter 14 Martha went straight to the hospital to see Josh who was still unconscious. She cried so much that she told Josh she would never let anyone take him away. She kept talking to herself but never knew Josh heard what she had been saying. She said she might have found his father but he is so ruthless and he doesn't deserve to be his father. She kept crying and wished Josh could recover quickly so they can leave. She couldn't stand the fact that Josh will be taken from her if the truth comes out. Chapter 15 At the station,Mark and his father were awaiting trials but he kept wailing and insisted that the young lad was his long lost son. He told the policemen that he still had the boy's childhood pictures. He was asked of his son's mother and he explained she died while given birth to him. So he had to raise him all by himself. He talked on how he met Sarah(mistress) but things went sour when he found out she wasn't fair to Josh. She maltreatment him whenever he is at work to the point where Josh was admitted at the hospital so he broke up with her. He explained John went missing few weeks after they broke up. Hearing this,the police asked him if his mistress whereabouts but he seems not to know. He was awaiting trials but was granted a chance to go home and show the police Josh's photo that he had kept. Lo and behold,it was true but how to make Josh come back to him is the problem knowing fully well that he had tried to kill him. He wailed and begged for forgiveness knowing fully well that Josh was his son.He was taken back to the station. Chapter 16
