Kate MorganIt had been two months since Kate had last seen Mark. It had hurt her that their relationship had ended so abruptly. It felt unfair to Kate that Mark had made her choose between him and her mom. As much as she’d wanted to, there was no way that she could choose him over her mother. The path to becoming a dutiful daughter was a difficult one for Kate, for in choosing her mother over Mark, hatred burned within her.
“Love is a commitment,” Louise said. The three of them had decided to spend the afternoon at the Dockside Cafe—for old time’s sake—to share some Tea for Three. “Have you ever heard of that saying—’If you love someone, set them free. If they come back, they’re yours; if they don’t, they never were’?”
