Chapter 34
Louise DelaneyIt was Saturday morning when there was a knock on the door. Louise, Philip, and Abby had just finished breakfast and were sitting outside on the back porch with their cups of tea. It was cute how, once upon a short time ago, Abby would only drink hot chocolate. And today, there she was, all grown up and enjoying a morning cup with the adults. “Are we expecting anyone?” Louise asked.
“I’ll get it,” Philip said as he made to get up.
“No,” Louise put her hand up, “let me.” Her cast had finally been removed, and walking in a moon boot made it much easier to get around. “I like practicing walking on this thing.”
“I’ll come with you,” Abby said, getting up.
“It’s just the door, love; you sit down and relax,” Louise said.
Louise smiled as she hobbled towards the doo
