The mage cast again, and suddenly thick, black smoke billowed out of the Sea Wolf.
Sea Wolf"By the Saints," said Anya. "What happened?"
"A smoke spell," replied Grazynia. "I"ve seen one before."
"Keep your crossbows loaded," urged Danica as she scanned the Valiant"s deck to where the crew stood ready. "Stand by to make a turn."
Valiant"s"To what side?" came back a call.
"I don"t know yet. It largely depends on what the Sea Wolf does."
Sea WolfThe smoke didn"t so much blow around as simply float in space. The Valiant drew closer, then entered the area, leading many to shield their eyes.
