CHAPTER THREE Caught you

after what seemed like hours, Lexi regained consciousness slowly. she struggled to gain balance inside the wardrobe as her whole body was visibly soaked in sweat. looking outside the tiny hole.

she gave a sign of relief seeing the nurse was no longer there.

kicking it open and let herself out of her hiding spot.

she found it hard trying to adjust to the light after staying in darkness for a while, even her body ached due the long contraction.

she wasn't really strong for all these things she was doing but that was the only way to guarantee her safety.

it was already broad day light and leaving the hospital wasn't going to be easy for her.

opening the door she walked out bending so as no one would recognize her at all.

her posture had attracted some attention but lucky the nonchalant people around where faces she never knew.

couldn't help but compliment how big the place was, people where all around, seeing a mother cuddling her baby brought a flash back of jimmy to her, holding back her tears, remembering when her little boy was born, how he struggled to walk and talk, his first words, she finally reached the exist and tried pulling the door open. accidentally at the same time she had tried walking at the door a man outside was trying the same. she bumped into the young man with a long hair.

" sorry " she replied walking away.

" hey hold on " walking towards her , she was already panicking.

" I think you dropped your handkerchief " getting closer to her.

relieved as the man didn't know who she was, she collected the piece of clothe and tried making her way out when a strong hand grabbed her.

turning around this time to see who had the audacity to hold her in such manner.

it was the same young man, she looked into his eyes that reflected nothing but loneliness.

" excuse me, aren't you the lady who recently had a surgery, may I know where your going ma'am " he queried staring at her.

" no sir it's not me, my son had being admitted into the hospital and I want to quickly get something for him outside" she boldly told the man.

startled at the rate which this woman lied with confidence he intensed his grip on her.

" aren't you too pretty to lie and risk your life, did the doctor discharge you so early, I shouldn't be asking if he did that because it's obvious you sneaked your way out "

" hey, Mr. you can't stop anyone and say whatever that comes to your mind, look I know how it feels to have a wife in that condition believe me am not her, please let go of me" she whimpired.

noticing a sudden drag of attention, she got really angry.

" you i***t let go of me fool " she yelled trying to keep her tone low.

they where still arguing when the doctor approached them.

" Good morning sir " the doctor smiled giving him a warm handshake.

" good morning doc " the man replied his voice lighter than the expression on his face.

Trepidation written all over Lexi's face as she recognized the doctor at ones, it was the same doctor on duty the previous day, that had told her she could or couldn't be discharge today.

the doctor on the other had looked at her and became confused.

" sir the face you picked for your wife is exactly the one this young lady over here is bearing, this could be a problem as the hospital can be sued.

the man who hadn't let go of his grip on her wrist grinned looking at her before turning back to the doctor.

" How can a hospital as big as this one be so careless, you leave your patients to wonder away whenever they feel like" glaring at the doctor.

" sir it's not me, your mistaken my name is not Sandra " begging the man to let go of her.

" I see so you do know I wrote Sandra in place of the fact that I didn't know your name, impressive he smirked.

the doctor who got even more confused asked the both to join him so as to know if the woman she claimed wasn't her was still in the room.

at this point Lexi gave up, this young man here was obviously not her husband and he didn't look like a spy either. she resolved it was best to stop things from getting out of hand by admitting the truth.

" am sorry " she finally spilt .

" I know you want to leave the hospital by all means but going about it this way isn't the write thing to do " he leaned forward letting go of his grip on her.

" sir we are sorry, this wouldn't not repeat itself again, we have got CCTV cameras every where and I can't tell how she managed to get passed all of them" appealing to the already angry man.

" then employ people to watch over them "

the doctor just noded not wanting the matter to escalate.

" can she be discharged today "

" yes she can, after we run some tests, that would be in the next few minutes do sit down over here and wait while I see how much progress we have " he replied point at the laboratory.
