CAT GOT YOUR TONGUE??

”Rumor has it that…" Sara's words kept ringing in my head, and I couldn't let go of them. I wanted to know more. My dad has always said my curiosity could kill me, but I wanted to know more. Kevin looked like he knew something I didn't. His face said it all. There was something about him. We were in the basketball court rehearsing again for our upcoming game. I bounced the ball and ran to the net, but Jane hit the ball off the net. “Active girls!” Coach yelled. We went for another round again, and this time the ball passed the net. "Yesssssss." My crew shouted, clapping my back. Coach signaled for a short break as we all ran to the locker room to get our water and snacks. “Nice game, Jordan," Jane drawled. “She managed to get it right… Yeah, we should pop a champagne," Zendaya snorted. She dyed her hair purple. “You didn't spoil the game today," she said. “Yeah… Next time be more active and stop running around the court directionlessly." I smirked back. “Just leave her girl… Don't stoop so low to the level of the scholarship student," Jane smacked, grinning. I took a deep breath and exhaled as they went back to their lockers. I opened mine and took out my water with my jersey number on it. I still had my back turned when the girl started muttering. As soon as I turned, my eyes landed on a pink doll. "Oh… Look what we have here," Angela sneered. As usual, the twins were by her side with Rachel, who waved sheepishly. I ignored her. ”I saw your names on the list of girls who want to join the cheerleaders club, and guess what?” She smirked. "I am the captain." She laughed and waved her hair. “Oh great, I'm impressed," I said with a bored look and folded my hands. "Anyways, we've got practice now," she stated. "Wait...now, we're having basketball practices now," I said. She paused and turned around slowly. "Umm… I don't see how that affects me." She chuckled and walked out. “Do you really have to join them?” Sara said. “Of course, you know how activities matter when going to college," I said, and she nodded. “Let’s sneak; Coach won't find out," she whispered. “Of course she won't," Jane drawled behind us. “C’mon, Jane, you're a sweet little demon… I mean, Angel." I smiled. "Yea…yes, whatever. Hope you see what you're getting into," Jane replied. I smiled at her while Sara and I sneaked out of the court. We walked to the gym room where they were having cheerleader practices. I had always wanted to join the cheerleaders, not because of their hot uniform or something, but Mom had always liked it. We walked in on Angela, who was giving rules for the crew. The do's and don'ts of the crew. “No phones are allowed during practice. Y'all must have flawless skin and always be punctual. Drink water and take a nap 24/7. Who the heck takes nap 24/7 in school?? I don't know much about the basketball team, but please, I don't want my cheerleaders having injuries." She drawled, glancing at my knee. For f**k's sake. I had this when I was a kid. I also need a personal assistant, and Jordan, you're up. "What a privilege," she smacked. “Take this” She said Angela didn't wait for me to take her bag; she dropped it right on my feet. Designer leather, which probably cost a lot more than my whole closet, and it landed with a thud that echoed around the room. "Oops." She said and popped a gum. "Wel…pick it up, charity case; that's what you're here for, right?” The room went silent. They waited for a reaction; I looked at their faces and then turned to hers. She was grinning from ear to ear alongside Taylor. Tyler watched with her eyes on her nails again. I sighed and picked the bag up. “Here boooo," I mimicked. Her breath hitched and eyes flickered, but she managed to hold her smile. “You want a boy to call you that too, ha, so unfortunate." She smiled. “No, actually you dropped it, so try not to let Daddy's money slip through your fingers again." She didn't take it but only scoffed. "The stray has teeth." "Trust me, I've learned to live with wolves like you," I growled and went closer to her. I could beat the s**t out of her if she reminds me anymore of my predicament. "Ouuuhh" She giggled and clapped, grinning in delight. "Seems like Jordeey has family issues. Hmmm." She sneered as I walked closer to her. Sara sucked in a breath. “Jordan—” “You think this is about you?” I whispered. “I—!!!” I leaned in, but someone caught my hand and drew me back. “Don’t do it." I turned and flicked my hand off Alex's own and walked out of the room angrily. *TAYLOR'S POV* I watched Jordan walk out the door; my eye lingered on the hand Alexander held. She had always been this arrogant. She probably didn't know what it meant for the hottest boy in school to hold your hand. I've jerked off countless times hoping for that hand; it mistakenly touches me one day. JORDAN'S POV ∆¶¶EVENING¶¶∆ I stood on the rooftop alone, staring at the moon. My mind went back to the way Alexander held my hands, like he held my hand, and I felt a chill breeze pass me. I badly wanted to wipe that smug look off Angrla's face. I looked at the time, and it read 8:55pm. I had been outside going from place to place and checking out the vending machines alongside the secret pool I found at the rooftop. I badly wanted to try it out, so here I was, with my tank top and shorts. If anyone were staring right now, I would have felt naked because the shorts were too short. I jumped into the water as it splashed around. The moon shone on the water with the halogen light underneath it. Now this was life. I rested my head and closed my eyes, smiling into space and thinking about nothing. Silence. The water started rumbling. I opened my eyes in shock, only to come face to face with Alexander. “s**t!” I muttered. The one person I had been avoiding was standing directly opposite me. "Asshole," I murmured, and he chuckled. “Wish you could've seen your face from here," he smirked. “You don't just come out of a pool like that! ”I barked. "Yeah...and out, don't just jump into a pool without looking to see if anyone was in it," he spat back. “You keep stalking me," I sneered. “Oh really… I don't really waste my time doing that kind of s**t," he growled darkly. I swallowed. He sounded angry, and suddenly he was smiling again. “What?” I glared at him. “Nice pants," he snorted. “Get out," I whispered. “And if I don't," he whispered back, walking closer to me. I kept shifting till my back hit the wall. He had me against the wall with me trapped between his arms. “Cat got your tongue?" he whispered softly. I glared at him with shaky hands. His breath kept fanning my neck even though the air was cool. I was sweating. “All you do is glare and throw words. Can you do anything better?...Like action," he drawled, stroking a finger down my face. My breath hitched, fingers curling into a fist not from pleasure but from anger because I wanted more of his fingers, and I wanted it below my face. He moved it down my neck, and my head followed like I was being controlled. I lost all strength to push him; this wasn't me. My head was screaming, but my mouth was shut. "Hey Jordan, eyes on me." He whispered close to my ears, his eyes a contrasting light with the moon. A sound I didn't recognize came out of my mouth. I covered it in shock and pushed him. I got out of the water and did the only thing in my head. I ran….
