Chapter III

Back at the hideout CJ put the case down onto the meeting table. Opening up to show the 8 veils of liquid that sat neatly inside. Looking at it no one would have even guessed that they had been attacked. “Here’s everyone’s things.” CJ said taking hers before she stepped back and allowed everyone to grab their own veils. Each woman placed it somewhere safe on their body. “So how’d it go?” Code inquired wanting to know how things with the Irishman went this time around. CJ sighed and shook her head. She didn’t want to explain what had happened, it had ruined what little good mood she had been in today. “We were ambushed. About seven people in white masks came into Danny’s and shot the place up. Killed a couple of Emit’s men while they were at it.” Kay explained causing some of the girls to look at her shocked. “Emit okay?” Judith asked looking up from her computer. She had been busy collecting the information on the man that was working as a go between for the government leaders and the royal family. She hadn’t been able to find much since everything on the guy was encrypted for some reason. Apparently he didn’t want to be found. “Greedy bastard is just fine.” CJ muttered as she closed the case and put it off onto the floor by the table. “So did you figure out who it was that attacked?” Code asked looking at CJ. “We weren’t able to figure out anything. There were no markings and the only thing about them that was odd was that they were all wearing the same white masks. It was really creepy actually.” Doodle said shivering at the thought of the masks of the men. She never did like stuff like that it always creeped her out. “How is Boxx and Red’s work coming along? Anyone heard from Chaos?” “Boxx and Red have been in the workshop since you left. Chaos has yet to report in but I imagine we’ll be hearing something from her soon.” Code replied as she went over to the old fridge that was sitting in the right corner of the hideout. Opening it up she grabbed a soda pop out and popped the top off as she started drinking it. CJ sat down in her chair at the head of the table while she was thinking about the asshole that had attacked them today. Not knowing anything about an enemy was dangerous. It was the type of danger that they couldn’t deal with along with trying to target the man in the suit that was working as a go between. She sighed deeply at Kay took a seat at the table to join her. “What’s wrong?” She questioned having been wanting to ask her Prez since earlier today when she noticed something was off about the woman. CJ shook her head and leaned back in her chair placing her hands behind her head. “You’d think that if it was royal police that attacked us they’d been clean cut – but these men weren’t. And at the same time there were no gang tattoos or anything to depict where they’d come from.” “You thinking hit squad?” Judith asked from her end of the table looking up from her computer. Code came and took her seat at the table. “It would make sense. Hired professional gun. No tats to leave behind any sign of who they work for but not squeaky royal clean.” Code spoke up between sips of her soda pop. CJ ran her hand across her chin thinking. That would be the most logical answer to this question that was looming over her and everyone else. But who would hire a professional hit squad and who was the target? Was it suppose to be them or was it suppose to be Emit? “If we find out we’re the ones that was the target we’ll be ready this time. And this time, I want one of them left alive. Don’t go trigger happy, Doodle.” CJ scolded the woman to her right. She raised up her hands in defense. She was trying to protect CJ when she charged down onto the landing so what was she suppose to do let the guy shoot her? She didn’t comment but that’s what went through her mind when the woman pointed her out in front of the others. “What have you found out Judith?” That was the next question that needed addressed. Judith sighed as she shook her head. She wasn’t able to find out much about the guy but enough to get a general location on him. “It was harder than what I thought it was going to be. I don’t have a name but I have an address to a local office building where his P.O. Box is located. That’s about all I could find. I don’t understand why all of his information is behind so many firewalls and security systems it’s ridiculous.” “A P.O. Box is better than nothing. He has to check his mail sometime.” Kay said looking across the table at Judith. Judith shrugged, wishing that she had been able to figure out more but couldn’t. It was annoying her greatly that she couldn’t hack into this guys bank accounts or even get a home address on him. “Where’s the mail located?” CJ asked speaking up wanting to know if it was in an area that they knew or if it was going to be one they’d have to do some recon on in the future. Judith typed away on the keyboard pulling up information. “Says here that it’s in the Middle class area. A building called Eden. Looks like they’re known for their software developments.” Judith said reading what she had on her screen. Glancing over at CJ the rest of the girls looked over at her as well waiting for her to say something. “What type of software?” “Looks like homeland security.” “Well that could explain why all his files are under lock down. Probably programmed them himself.” Doodle said with a slight head lull as she voiced her opinions. Code nodded her head slowly as she put the drink back to her lips and took another small sip. Kay sat there silent as ever waiting for someone else to say something. “Well, what do you wanna do CJ?” Doodle spoke up again since body else in the room seemed to do it. She wasn’t just doing to sit here and do nothing when they had an address and could figure out who this guy was and why he was being the go between. “When Chaos gets back, I want her to do a full rundown of the building. I want to know where all the ins and outs are along with every window that opens and every corner that has a camera inside and out. Judith she’ll need your help for the cameras.” Judith nodded as she closed her computer. That was something that she could do – hopefully better than she had done so with the guy’s information. “The rest of you aren’t going to do anything till I tell you. Stay close, keep your burners on you, and whatever you do don’t get yourselves arrested for something stupid.” She said looking around the room at each of the girls there. “We’ll pick up tomorrow. Go home.” She said slapping her hand down on the table to dismiss everyone. Surely they’d all know more by tomorrow once Judith hacked into the system and Chaos came back with information on the government building. Chaos had been perched in the same spot of her look out building for the last several hours taking pictures and doing a general observance of the building. The streets were quite this time of night. She was located in the Middle class district of the city so it was suppose to be this time at night. The clicking of her camera was barely audible as she took pictures of anyone who was guarding the building. She also took pictures of the windows to look at later to see which ones were made to open and which ones were just for the view or layout of the building. Taking picture after picture Chaos stopped abruptly swearing she had heard something from behind her. Acting as if she hadn’t heard it, she slowly lowered her camera down and sat there. Her guns were hidden away in the large black coat that she wore over her other darker clothing. If she needed to do so she could grab them quickly, both having silencers on the tips of the barrels since she had come undercover tonight. Placing her camera down onto the ground she heard the sound again. It sounded like a scuffle across the old cement flooring of the building. Keeping her eyes straight forward she reached inside to her jacket to her holsters she wore that helped to keep the guns in place. Grabbing the hilt of the gun Chaos took a deep breath and turned around quickly removing the gun from it’s place. “Jesus don’t shoot! It’s me! It’s Code!” Chaos gave an angry scowl toward the woman who held her hands up to show that she meant no harm. Putting the gun away Chaos looked over at the woman who was dressed in a black outfit as well. “You nearly got your damn head blown off. Next time I suggest you call me on the burner instead of sneaking up behind me.” She wasn’t afraid to rip her VP a new one when it came to things like this – this wasn’t the first time it had happened. Code shook her head and took a seat down beside Chaos, causing the woman to look at her. “What are you doing here anyway?” “I came to give you your shipment.” Code said pulling the veil from out of her pocket. It was black, which was Chaos’s color. She took the veil from Code and stuffed it in her pocket before she turned and picked up her camera again to see if there was anything else happening. “They were attacked tonight picking up the shipment.” Code said noticing that the other woman never turned her eyes away from her camera as she was snapping pictures of the building. “Men in white masks. We believe they’re hired gun. What we don’t know is who they were there for us or Emit.” “Hard to tell with us being labeled a terrorist organization and given a crazy name like Daughters of Monarchy. I mean seriously, we’re fighting against the Monarchy and the assholes give us that type of name?” “It’s ironic I know, believe me, I know. But when you think about it, it makes sense seeing as where half of our members come from. Where you come from – “ “Shut up, Code.” Code stopped talking like she was told. She knew that for most women it was a touchy subject that nobody in their gang wanted to talk about. But what they were fighting for together was so much more than what everyone thought they were about. Fighting for the equality for everyone in the city – the world for that matter, was more important than that of each of their pasts. “CJ wants you to work with Judith tomorrow once you’re finished up here with what you’re doing.” “Right, I’ll get right on that.” Code glanced at the other woman, who was obviously in a fowl mood now thanks to her. With a sigh Code stood up and off to the side of the window so she wasn’t seen. “Make sure to get plenty of sleep, Chaos.” “Make sure you stay alive, Code.”
