Chapter II

Driving through the dark and murky streets of the lower class, Doodle and CJ had taken the jeep. It was black and quiet running which was perfect for the perfect type of vehicle for this. Kay, who had been asked to follow behind was riding on a quiet running motorbike. Moving through the streets without any sound was crucial the last thing they wanted was to draw attention to themselves. Doodle kept her eyes forward as she drove in the night. Passing by run down buildings and too many bars to count. They were headed West toward the wall of the sector which separated the forest from the city. On the outer walls was the forest. The first section which was the lower class of living – otherwise known as the slums – was the outer surrounding circle of the city. Toward the middle of town was the Middle class. Then right in the center of the city was the Upper level or the rich folk. Segregation of the city was huge. And it was something that the group Daughters of Monarchy was trying to fix. “Pull up in back. We’ll need coverage for when we load the shipment.” CJ said waving toward the back where the parking lot turned into an ally. Doodle pulled into the parking lot and off to the side of the ally. They’d have to walk around to the front and go in that way. But the two story building wasn’t really anything to worry about. On top of an illegal gun running joint it doubled as a bar on the first floor. Kay pulled her bike up behind the jeep and climbed off. Putting her helmet down onto the back seat of the bike she followed the two inside. Inside the bar it was clouded with smoke from people smoking anything from joints to cigars. Drugs wasn’t hard to come by around here if you knew where to look. The bar extended around the side which was where some tables were set up in the middle of the room and booths lined along the east wall. People were scattered through the building drinking, playing cards, smoking. It was just another regular Thursday night at Danny’s Bar. “Emit in?” CJ asked the bartender who was currently mixing up drinks for a table. The heavy set man turned around and looked at CJ and with a grunt nodded toward the back room which had a stairwell leading up to the second floor where they handled all the shipments. CJ, Doodle, and Kay all made their way through the bar and to the second floor. Walking inside, the three women were stopped at the door by a large body guard. “No weapons inside.” He grunted. He was tall and dark skinned wearing a lot of scars on his skin. CJ rolled her eyes looking up at the man. She nodded toward the two with her which was a sign for them to place their weapons on the table outside the door. CJ removed her two rings that went on each hand. Kay pulled out a small pocket watch and placed it beside CJ’s rings. Lastly Doodle pulled out from the back of her pants a small silver pocket flip knife. Once they had placed the items down on the table the three were aloud to enter the room. “Well, well, well, hello CJ.” An Irish tone came from behind a desk. CJ smiled and nodded toward the male who had his his feet kicked up on his desk where there were large stacks of cash on either side of him. “Hello Emit.” CJ greeted walking over to stand in front of the desk. Doodle and Kay took a look around the room. They had both been here before more than once, everyone in the group had been for either a shipment or to learn the ropes on how things worked around here. Kay and Doodle’s eyes fell upon the new toys laid out on the table where there were men putting them together. “We’ve come for our newest shipment. It ready?” CJ asked looking around. Emit, the Irishman had a receding hairline but the orangeist hair anyone had ever seen. He was an older man that was dressed rather nicely for living in the slums. And by nicely it was meant that his green plaid top and brown extenders that were attacked to his intact blue jeans was a step up from what you’d normally see around here. He gave her a charming smile and a wink with his blue eyes. “Ya know it lovie. Ya got ma cash?” He questioned as he stood up and walked around the desk. He towered over CJ as he stood about six-foot-two while CJ was a measly five-foot-nine. “We’ve got it. Show us what you’ve got.” She said nodding her head toward his table. Emit chuckled and waved them over to the table. He pulled out a black case that had been stashed under the table. Opening it up he revealed the small veils of different colored liquids. The three girls gathered around the table and looked at the eight different colored items that were laid in the case neatly for them to see. “One for each of yer girls. Although, these things are startin’ ta be harder ta come by now o-days.” Emit said looking at CJ. CJ crossed her arms over her chest and shook her head. “You trying to say something Emit you’d best say it. Stop dancing around whatever it is you know how much I hate that type of thing.” “Aye, what I’m tryn’a say is that I’m gonna be needin’ more cash lovie.” Doodle scoffed. “More cash? We’re already paying a fortune we don’t have to get this stuff and you want to jack up the price even more?” Emit narrowed his eyes toward Doodle and leaned over the table getting closer to her face. Her blue eyes met with his as they were locked in a glaring contest with each other. “And why do ya think it’s so hard ta get this s**t? Ya think it grows on trees? The only way ta get this is to risk my men’s lives – “ “And we’re very thankful for that.” CJ jumped in making Doodle take a step back away from the table. She understood where her Sargent was coming from. They were already running low on funds and Emit wanted them to dish out more which they didn’t have. “But you see Emit, a deal is a deal. And we’ve had this deal in place since we started doing business three years ago. You can’t just jack up the price without cutting out another deal.” “I most certainly can and will!” Emit said being taken aback by CJ’s boldness of telling him how he should run things. “With all the trouble out there in that God for saken jungle, all the beasts both humans and animals we’ve gotta fight against ta find this I can raise the price if I feel it!” The room fell silent after that little outburst. Nobody from either side of the room moved an inch, but there was tension now. On one side there was more money wanted and the other lacked that money. This was a huge problem for both parties right now. “How much more do you want?” CJ asked through her clenched teeth. Emit pulled back from the table and looked out one of the three windows in the room. He rubbed his patchy beard with his hand as he stood there as if to think about what the price should be for what they needed. “Thirty thousand gillens.” “Jesus Christ! Thirty thousand! You’re drunk Irishman!” Doodle shouted causing Emit to laugh loudly as he looked at the red haired younger woman. He threw her a charming smile. “I am, but that has nothing ta do with the very firm price set in place.” He told her, his grin not faltering even in the slightest. “She’s right Emit, that’s a hefty price. We don’t have that kind of cash just laying around.” CJ said as Emit slammed the case closed. The three women frowned as they looked from the case to Emit. His smile long since gone after they didn’t agree with his price. “No gillens, no deal lovie.” He said sliding the case to the end of the table toward one of his men. Kay watched the case moving around from one hand to another until it was passed back to the safe in the back of the room. CJ sighed deeply and rubbed the sides of her head a headache quickly growing from annoyance. “Look Emit – “ A loud blast cut her off from finishing up. The blast came from the first floor of the bar causing the whole building to shake. “Jesus! What the bloody hell was that!” Emit shouted waving for some men to pick up their guns. He had four men up here with him, which had always been more than enough for whatever he needed them for. However today seemed like it was going to be one of those days where he didn’t have enough men. Gun fire came from downstairs as lots of yelling could be heard too. Doodle made a mad dash for the door, they had left their weapons outside like they’d been asked. Just as she came around the corner and grabbed the three she seen masked men in white masks and black outfits firing her way with automatics. She dove back into the room and made her way quickly over to CJ and Kay, who had helped Emit flip over one of the tables in the room to use as a barrier for the bullets that flew past them. “What the hell have I told you about watching for people followin ya!?” “They’re not here for us!” “Well they’re not here for me!” Emit and CJ argued back and forth as Emit pulled the. .44 from his side and started shooting at the men that was shooting at them. CJ worked to put her two rings back on each of her fingers between the middle and pinky finger. Kay flipped open her pocket watch. And Doodle flipped open her switch blade. “Hey Emit! New deal!” Doodle shouted over the firing guns that rang out in the room. Emit was reloading his gun as he glanced the woman’s way and seeing that she was holding up her blade. “We kick these guy’s asses and you cut our deal by twenty percent on top of that added on price!” “What! That’s highway robbery! Ya tryn'a put me outta business!?” He called out as one of his men was taken down as he was shot in the head. They all heard the heavy body hit the floor, causing Emit to flinch at the sound being so close to him. The whole room was loud as glass was shattering and bullets whizzed through the air. The three girls looked at Emit, none of them had started attacking waiting to see where this was going to go. “Jesus Christ! Five percent!” “Twenty-five!” “Ten!” “Twenty!” Another man went down somewhere in the back of the room leaving only two men left. Emit cursed in his Irish language as he started to fire again. “Fifteen and that’s it!” “Prez?” Doodle asked looking at her boss. CJ looked at her and nodded her head it was a done deal. “Alright! Now fuckin’ shoot them!” Emit yelled out as another man was shot in the knee and taken down, leaving them with one man left. CJ looked to Kay, giving her the go ahead. “Do it!” CJ ordered causing Kay to wined up her watch and pushed the top of it. Suddenly the bullets started coming slower for Kay to the point where everyone and everything in the room was moving at a snails pace. Standing up from behind the desk Kay reached down and touched Doodle, who became aware of the slow motion that was set around them. “I always was envious of your powers!” Doodle laughed as she spun around her switch blade moving it around fast enough to the point where if you blinked, you’d missed what happened next. Tossing her blade up in the air it transformed into a large scythe that fell back into her hands. But the real beauty of this weapon was that not only was it a scythe but also an AK-47 which was the butt of the weapon. At the tip where the large curved blade came out was the barrel and tip of the gun. Locking onto her targets, Doodle pulled the trigger and the bullets from her AK moved just as fast as she had done. She managed to hit two of the three targets that was standing in the doorway. “Times almost up, five seconds.” Kay said as she sat back down behind the table. Although she could slow down time to almost a stop, she was limited on how long she could make it last. Doodle smiled as she hopped over the table and rushed the other person in the doorway. “More than enough time for me!” She called out bringing her scythe around just before the time expired and everything went back to the normal moving time it had been. The man screamed out startled before she went and sliced his head clean off. His head went rolling across the floor as she kicked the body down the stairwell toward the other four men that were waiting down there. Seeing her they started firing their guns, only to hit the body. Jumping onto the railing in the hallway, Doodle pushed her feet of the ledge and started shooting toward the men hitting one as she fell onto the landing below them. Firing back up at them she heard CJ yelling as she came rushing and jumping down the stairs. With the distraction that Doodle gave it left the men wide open for CJ. Punching one of the men, her rings started to glow red and the man was punched right through the wall. Hitting another one, she punched a hole clean through his stomach. And the third one was shot between the eyes by Doodle. Standing there in the stairwell both women looked at each other and a small laugh slipped past Doodle’s lips looking at the blood bath that had happened in a matter of seconds.
