Chapter Nine

- Chase's P.O.V -

I was currently laid on my bed after taking a shower and getting changed after being out in the woods most of the night i was physically tired and mentally i was wired my brain just refused to shut down i wanted to know how Ella had been able to hear me but Max said she was human i wanted to know where she came from, why she didn't kill me if she belonged to the Hunt i wanted to know everything about her from where she grew up to her deepest fears.

After an hour of laying on my bed picturing Ella in my mind and not doing her any justice i got up and decided id go for a run in the woods in my human form in the hope i could clear my mind as i reached the ground floor Grayson and Rain came in thru the main door and made a beeline to me " hey man where was you last night?" asked Grayson slapping me on the back "i was out on pack business" i replied as i shrugged my shoulders and slipped past them heading for the main door " where you going Chase i thought we could hang out and watch a movie or something?" asked Rain looking kind of hurt that i was trying to give them the slip " for a run mom geez if you wanna join catch me up" i said laughing as i exited the house only to see April walking towards the house wearing very little and high heels that looked like they could irrigate the grass if she wasn't tip toeing i pretended i never saw her as i put my earbuds in and started jogging towards the tree line truth be told i heard her yelling my name and telling me to wait up but i really didn't have time to deal with her nor did i have the overwhelming urge to listen to her whiney voice so i did what i had to i ran my ass away from her.

it took April a few minutes to give up her awkward chase of me as i hit the tree line and i picked up speed and left her doing a strange baby giraffe sort of run i'm pretty sure any normal person would of taken off the dam heels instead of trying to run in them but hey whatever gets her away from me fast is alright with me i switched on my music and started pushing my legs to move me faster, pumping my arms as i willed my body to move past it's tired state and keep going it took me a while but i realized that i had picked up Ella's scent on the autumn breeze and was following it towards her my wolf inside my head was yipping happily and bouncing around wagging his tail at the thought of seeing her again and possibly talking to her again, my body seemed to find energy from nowhere as i began to move faster and faster and then i saw something moving fast just in front of me to the right a mass of white hair swinging from left to right i couldn't help but turn my direction so that i would end up crossing paths with it as we was running the urge to talk to her in human form took over and my heart began to beet to fast i was sure very wolf within the county could hear it.

seconds later i ran into a small clearing and she collided straight into me and fell to the floor i stopped dead shocked to see her sprawled on her back panting and yanking her earbuds out of her ears " what the hell dude are you....blind?" her words faltered as she looked up at me and the word blind came out as a whisper " oh god i'm so sorry i was in a world of my own and i can't of see you, are you alright?" i asked as i extended my hand out to her to help her up as i had hoped she placed her hand in mine and sparks flew up my arm and into my heart making it skip a beat or at least feel like i had i felt a growl rumbling my chest and cleared my throat to cover it up incase she heard it " um.. yeah i'm fine just a little shaken up i guess, i mean you don't expect to see anyone running in the woods never mind to literally run into them" she laughed softly trying to hide her embarrassment but the slight red color creeping up her neck gave her away i couldn't help but smile and let out a chuckle my day dreams had not done her any justice her white hair in the sun looked like fresh fallen snow on the forest trees her blue eyes that i now can see have hints of gold in them where the color of the sparkling mediterranean sea and they was warm and caring her beautiful smile lit up her face that i had only seen smeared with dirt i tried to control my urge to mark her and claim her as mine i was snapped out of my thoughts by her name being called from behind her,

"Ella!..... Ella where the hell are you i told you to stay close... Ell.. their you are why the hell did you sprint off like the fires of hell was on your tail?" a man with a black army buzz cut hair style jogged up behind her panting slightly " the fires of hell was on my tail in the form of you and your constant talking uncle Marcus" she gave him a sweet smile and giggled softly i could see misschief glisening in her eyes as she smirked at me slightly " and who are you ? " he asked turning his attention to me " oh sorry where are my manners i'm Chase i was out running and kind of knocked into your niece....Ella was it?" i smiled as kindly as i could although i could smell his scent and it was the one of three from outside the cabin that i had smelt when i had delivered Ella home the previous night Ella's eyes went wide when i spoke my name but she schooled her features in time before her uncle decided to do a spot check for any injuries i bit the inside of my mouth as his hands touched her face and arms " i'm fine Marcus i just ran into him and ended up on my arse is all and you are so not checking for bruises there" she chided as she smacked his hands away marcus seemed to relax at her words and nodded his head " ok good now come on we should get back" smiled marcus as he turned on his heels and started jogging back the way he had come " Chase?" Ella said softly i smiled at her and stepped closer slightly " i'm glad to see you're not getting lost in the forest today" i smiled barely inches away from her, i heard her breath hitch at my closeness " thank you for last night do you have a phone number so i can talk to you i would rather my family doesn't know about last night" she said smiling.

I reached to the bump on her thigh and pulled her phone out of her pocket and dialed my number and let it ring for a few seconds and then cancelled the call then passed it back to her " now i have your number and you have mine she quickly typed something onto her screen and then lifted it up "smile" was the only warning i got before she captured my picture and turned on her heels and ran off " it was nice running into you " i called after her laughing slightly as she waved her hand above her head and picked up speed to catch her uncle up i stood still for a little while watching her running before she vanished behind a tree and was gone from my line of view just then my mind link went wild and i sighed before opening it up as i began a slow jog back towards the pack house

Rain - " CHASE..!"

Chase- " man why are you yelling at me?"

Rain - " because i've been linking you for the last five minutes and you've not been answering even your dad has been linking you"

Alpha - " Chase if you do not get your ass back here now their will be a punishment do you hear me? Chase!"

Chase " yes dad i hear you i'm on my way now" i couldn't help the sigh the escaped my lips as i picked up as much speed as i could and headed back to the pack house to see what the emergency seemed to be.
