Chapter 38 I woke up, the undeniable grit and dust of the dungeon harsh under my elbows and heavy in my lungs. I moaned, not ecstatic to be back. Dogoklan had nothing on Cliff's rainbow falls. But, I was here and it was time to make the most of it. I sat up, opening my eyes. My mother was sitting where she'd been before, half-lotus, watching me tranquilly. “Did you sleep at all?” I asked. She shook her head. “I sleep when I'm tired. Time passes differently down here and I'm getting to be an older woman. I don't need as much sleep as I used to.
