Chapter 22 Etan tried walking up and down the length of the pale blue tiled hall, but after Carmen took the fourth bag of blood into the operating room, he couldn’t stand to know any more. He walked to the exit door and part of the way back, stopping before he could accidentally see where all that blood was going. He wished for one of Alex’s beloved watches, though he wasn’t sure if keeping track of the time would make this better or worse.
