CHAPTER FIFTEEN   "Wa, wha, wa, whoa!" Christy cried at the horse, trying to pull him to a slower gait. Her head was bouncing up and down in rhythm to the animal's thudding hoofs, making her teeth rattle. The horse kept moving on, tiring only slightly from the fast getaway. It was obvious to the girl that the. horse had been neglected for some time and hadn't been allowed to run. When it did have a chance, it naturally took advantage of it. After about a mile, she finally was able to pull the horse down to a slow walk.
