Ji-min was halfway through her Kinder Chocolate bar when the phone beeped on the bedside table. She turned off the kids channel she’d found on the TV and slid down off the bed. She folded the wrapper over the half-eaten chocolate bar and tucked it in her jeans pocket. Next, Ji-min picked up her coat and pulled it on.
She saw three notes left on the table, along with the business card for the taxi company. One of the notes was screwed up. She unfolded it and lay it flat on the table.
With Mr Moo in hand, Ji-min picked up the phone and pushed the blue ‘call’ button in the shape of a telephone. And then the last call made, labelled ’Taxi’.
She picked up the note with the instructions on what to say to the woman on the end of the call. She looked at Mr Moo. He whispered to her in Korean
