"I've grown you up better than that, young lady," she says, folding her arms across her chest and wrinkling her nose the way she always does when she's upset with me.
You are not allowed to wear this in public just because your father and I were kind enough to let you wear it at home. In particular, avoid the Perers. When you see them this evening, you'll be dressed in a dress."
"I don't understand," I sulk. "You never attend to these events by yourself. Dad and you. What is the reason for bringing me along this time, then? You don't seem to be asking Hayes or Alaina to come along."
"This meeting happens to involve you." She breaks.
"Alaina will also join us when her turn comes. Regarding Hayes, your sibling is currently out having fun with another girl.
If I were you, I'd pray for him. One day, he will undoubtedly cause trouble."
When she said it's Alaina's turn, what did she mean? I would normally seize the chance to see Theo, but I knew he was going to Starr today. They were going on a date, she told me. Tonight was theirs. She is scheduled to see Evans tomorrow and Damon on Sunday.
I was a little uncomfortable with their relationship because it's absurd that they even agreed on such an odd schedule.
After leaving the room, my mother comes back. moments later wearing a garment the colour of royal blue. "Activate this: We have ten minutes to leave, and I expect you to be in the car, which is unfortunate. It just so happens that Theo wouldn't be here on the day I'm seeing the Perers.
Theo~ At this point, I ought to have been with Starr. I'm stuck with Damon and Evans instead. I'm starting to believe that they intentionally did this. taking me with them in order to prevent me from going on our date. I was aware that those jerks desired her for themselves in the same way that I did. This is the most I've ever felt for another woman. Unfortunately, it turned out that my brothers shared my sentiments. They were equally enamoured with her as I was. Since she was our mate, that was to be anticipated. Unless two of the three of us chose to make that sacrifice, there was no way that we could break that bond. Until now, none of us could bear to part from her.
"Where exactly are we heading?" I query Damon. "This route looks familiar."
He responds, "To meet an old friend." "There is something important he wants to ask us."
I ask, "An old friend?" "Who can that be?" "Arthur Blackner." Fle tells me.
"Are we in some kind of trouble?" I query. "Why will there be a Blackner present? How could something be so urgent?
Instead, couldn't our parents get together with them?"
"Theo, this meeting isn't about our parents," Evans says. "It concerns us three and our relationship with a certain someone."
"Starr?" I inquire.
"Bingo." utters he.
What could be so vital that it would take us so long to see him?
"I didn't have to be here." I mention. "You're sabotaging my date with Starr, and you know it."
"Are we?" Asks Evans. "Why would we do something like that on purpose?"
When the jeep pulls over on the side of the road, I don't get to respond to that inquiry.
I almost instantly recognise Arthur. The man seemed distressed.
He's not by himself. With two more women, he is.
"Is it possible he has two mates like Starr has the three of us?" I glance at them and ask.
That would explain their decision to have me along for the entire trip. Perhaps they managed to find a solution. We could certainly learn their ways from them as well.
After we exited the car, Arthur introduced us to the women who had accompanied him.
Shaking their hands, Damon said, "Nice to meet you, ladies." "It's a pleasure." I give a small nod.
"What did you call us here for?" Asks Evans. "I think I have an idea, but I want a proper explanation."
"We initially believed it was your father trying to close a new business agreement. We wanted him to install a few items at home." Notes Damon. However, isn't that not the reason we're here? You and your father are no longer allies, as far as I'm aware."
Sighing, Arthur "I wasn't sure whether what I had heard was accurate. However, if it is, perhaps you can help clarify a comparable circumstance."
An analogous scenario?
Observe my siblings. Thus, our presumption was accurate?
I ask, "What did you hear?"
Arthur says, "I've heard that the three of you have the same mate."
I furrow my brow and brush a finger across my lower lip, saying, "It's true." However, how might such knowledge benefit you?"
The tension between us increases when he brings up Starr. The idea of having to divide her amongst the three of us still feels foreign to us. Speaking about it was ineffective.
"Are these two women your mates?" Inquiring and seeking a response, Damon asks.
The question appears to have horrified both women, "of course not." One lashes out. "He is only mate to Gabriella.
And nobody else.
Gabriella continues, "And it will stay that way for the rest of our lives." Her tone is menacing.
"It's concerning her." Arthur gestures towards the girl with a nod.
"You've probably heard of Alpha Eric's son, Kane. Though the fact that he has already formed a link with another lady makes me think that she might be his mate. I was curious if this was possible."
"Even though we are all mates. We've all forgotten to mark her. We are uncertain about the consequences should one of the three of us tag her. We haven't done it because of this. I'm not sure if this implies that you can find a new partner after marking your current one. You can have more than one partner, that much is certain. It's conceivable.
Sharing is never easy; it's not f*****g easy. However, it is feasible.
I'll attempt to clarify.
"Hattis"With a startled sigh, Evans calls out my name.
"I think you should look at this."
I freeze when he hands me the phone. It's an article with the headline, "Theo Perer to wed April Dale," written in strong letters.
"What is this f***g article about?" I require of Evans "My parents never brought up the subject of getting married to a woman. April Dale, too?
