Chapter 3.

Have they gone insane?" My mate's best friend was April. They seemed to be together all the time, and there was something about the girl that I found endearing. It's not anything I can touch. Whatever it was, I found it objectionable. Not in the slightest. "Your mother told you tonight that there will be a big business transaction with the Dales, didn't she? To make the announcement, she suggested that you arrive home early. I assume this is the item to which she was alluding." As he reads the article again, Damon clarifies. It appears as though he is reading the entire thing in an attempt to understand what was going on. "This can't be f*****g true." I break. My hands tremble with anger. "I refuse to wed anyone besides my partner. Mom need to be aware of this! How could she have done this without telling me beforehand?""Simply maintain composure," Damon advises. "This article might not be true. They frequently share inaccurate details about our life online. Let's all inhale deeply and head home to discuss this with our parents." I do not squander time. My brothers were saying farewell to Arthur, and I was already climbing into the jeep and waiting for them. I'm currently driving there. I'm letting the jeep move as quickly as it can. I wish I could verify if any of the information in that article was true. And if it was, I would figure out how to make it stop. There is a happening. What it is, I have no idea. Our folks seem very content. My dad and Theo's parents are shaking hands as if they are about to embark on the greatest business transaction of their lives. Even though I should be ecstatic about this, I can't help but feel uneasy and a little dubious about the whole situation. My siblings weren't present for this "important" business transaction, to start with. Should it be that significant, they would also be present. Why did my parents expect me to stay with them with such strictness? I have a feeling that I will hear back from you shortly. "What is going on?" When I finally get my mum alone, I inquire. "There is something you're not telling me, and I want to know what it is." I can't help but frantically tap my fingers against the glass while I wait for a proper response. She brought me here with her for a reason. I should have known that she had ulterior motives as she wouldn't have hauled me all the way here. Perhaps I ought to have made a bigger effort to get out of here. I was aware that danger lay ahead, but I had no idea what kind of difficulty. The man of my dreams appears behind the slammed door ahead of us, and my breath gets trapped in my throat. A. T. Perer. Like every time he walks into a room, time stops for a few seconds. His wide shoulders cinch the doorway, giving the impression that it is narrower than it is. He looks around the room for someone, his eyes threatening and cold. His brothers are in behind of him. He appears as uneasy as Damon and Evans do. I don't give a damn about their problems since I'm too busy staring at Theo. His hands clench into fists, and for a moment his eyes meet mine. Is he upset that I'm here, or is it just me? Theo hasn't given me much of his attention during the last few years, and when he does, this is how I feel about it? He advances towards his objective with a powerful gait. At that moment, I see that he is holding a magazine. Not just one, but a minimum of twelve. When he hurls the magazines in front of his parents, there are several gasps heard around the space. I notice that the front cover features a photo of me. A beat skips in my heart. There is another person in the magazine besides me: Theo. It's the title at the top, Theo Perer To Wed April Dale, that has me in a fog instead of the photographs. "What is this?" He asks in a calm voice, but his expression betrays anything but calmness. My parents had been withholding this information from me. That's why they were all so content. They weren't informing us about their celebration of our marriage. Just how could they? Shouldn't we have reached an agreement on this first? How many individuals were aware of this already? We were perhaps the last to learn about this, since magazines had already been produced. By the way he was acting, Theo had also recently learned. Was he not meant to be out on a date with Starr at this very moment? Did this imply that she read the essay as well? I hope she understands that I was not involved in it. I hope she understands that I declined to attend this wedding. Even though I disagreed with some of her choices, she was my best friend, and I wouldn't purposefully ruin our friendship with Theo. "Theo." His mum gives him a hug. It's kind of you to finally grace us with your presence. We currently have guests fighting, as you can see. You didn't need to scatter these magazines across the floor to ask a question." "Plus, you're running late. the letdowns His dad continues. His voice is unmistakable. "If you were on time, you wouldn't have had to find out this way!" He asks, "Find out what?" "That I'm getting married to a woman I don't want to marry?" His question causes me to fight a deep pain in my heart. I was aware that he had no desire to wed. It wasn't him who was in love. I did. Furthermore, he was unaware of my love for him. Well, I've kept it hidden. She's standing there." His mum loses it. "Have some respect for your future wife and the future daughter-in-law of this family." With a flash of rage in his eyes, Theo approaches his mother and declares, "Starr is the only lady I will ever marry. And nobody else. He doesn't say anything more as he storms out of the room, and I watch him leave, staring at the door until I can no longer see him. "Don't feel bad about his words." His mother Glenn informs me. "He's merely stunned. There will be a wedding. The official engagement is next week. Every preparation has already been completed." I try not to sound rude when I tell her, "He has a right to be angry." "We were not made aware of this wedding. Do you not believe that to be unjust to us? My best friend is Anye. It's common knowledge that he adores her: How can I wed a man who is in love with my closest friend?
