The prophecy awakens
THE DEVIL’S LAST HEIR
Episode 1: The Prophecy Awakens
The kingdom of Veyrath had not seen a peaceful night in seventeen years.
Not because of war.
Not because of famine.
But because of a prophecy.
A prophecy the King had spent his entire reign trying to bury.
---
Thunder rolled across the blackened sky as the doors of the royal chamber slammed open.
An old woman in a dark crimson robe stumbled into the throne room, clutching an ancient book against her chest.
The guards immediately raised their weapons.
“Who allowed her inside?” the King demanded.
The woman ignored them.
Her eyes were fixed on the throne.
“Your Majesty…”
The King slowly stood.
“What is it?”
The old woman opened the book.
Her hands were trembling.
“The prophecy has awakened.”
Silence swallowed the room.
The King's expression changed.
“What did you say?”
“The final verse has revealed itself.”
She turned the book toward him.
Written across the ancient page were words in a language that had not been spoken for centuries.
But the King could read them.
His face went pale.
WHEN THE KING HAS SIX SONS,
THE LAST SHALL CARRY THE DEVIL'S BLOOD.
HE SHALL RISE FROM THE ASHES OF A BROKEN HOUSE,
AND THE CROWN SHALL FALL BY HIS HAND.
The King stared at the words.
“No…”
The old woman continued.
“Your sixth son will dethrone you.”
The King slowly looked toward the enormous stained-glass window overlooking the castle.
Beyond it, somewhere in the kingdom, lived the child he had tried so desperately to forget.
His youngest son.
Kael.
---
Seventeen Years Earlier
A baby cried inside the royal nursery.
His mother held him tightly against her chest.
She looked exhausted, but she smiled.
“My little Kael…”
The door opened.
Her smile disappeared.
The King entered.
Two guards stood behind him.
“What are you doing here?” she whispered.
The King looked at the child.
Then at her.
“You know why.”
She shook her head.
“No.”
“You were warned.”
“I won't let you take my son.”
The King stepped closer.
“You don't understand what he is.”
“He is my child.”
“He is my downfall.”
The room became silent.
The Queen's eyes filled with fear.
“You're afraid of your own son?”
The King said nothing.
She pulled Kael closer.
“You would have to kill me first.”
The King looked at her for a long moment.
Then he turned toward the guards.
“Leave us.”
The guards hesitated.
“Your Majesty…”
“I said leave.”
The doors closed.
The Queen stared at her husband.
“What are you going to do?”
The King walked toward her.
And that night, the kingdom lost its Queen.
---
Present Day
Kael stood alone on a balcony overlooking the kingdom.
He was twenty years old now.
He wore no royal colors.
No crown.
No royal insignia.
Only a black coat and the silver sword hanging at his side.
To the kingdom, he was nothing more than the King's unwanted son.
Kael had spent years wondering why his father hated him.
Why he had been forbidden from entering the royal palace.
Why every servant looked at him with pity.
And why no one would speak about his mother.
Tonight, however, something felt different.
The wind suddenly stopped.
Kael looked up.
The moon had turned crimson.
A strange symbol appeared across his palm.
He stumbled backward.
“What... is this?”
The mark burned for only a moment before disappearing.
Then he heard a voice.
Not outside.
Inside his head.
“The time has come.”
Kael froze.
“Who are you?”
No answer.
Then the castle bells began ringing.
Once.
Twice.
Three times.
Across the kingdom, every flame suddenly went out.
And beneath the royal castle, something ancient opened its eyes.

Elsewhere
Far beyond the capital lived a young woman named Lyra.
She had spent her entire life being told that she was dangerous.
Not because of anything she had done.
Because of what she was.
Her mother had belonged to one bloodline.
Her father belonged to another.
And Lyra had inherited both.
A hybrid.
But despite everything her mother had taught her, Lyra had never been able to awaken her powers.
Not even once.
Her mother had always told her:
“Your power will come when you need it most.”
But her mother was gone now.
Dead.
And Lyra's father had remarried.
His new wife had never hidden how little she wanted Lyra around.
That evening, Lyra entered the dining hall and immediately noticed something was wrong.
Her stepmother was smiling.
That alone was terrifying.
“Sit down,” the woman said.
Lyra slowly sat.
Her father avoided her eyes.
“What happened?”
Her stepmother placed a letter on the table.
“You're getting married.”
Lyra stared at her.
“What?”
“You heard me.”
“To who?”
Her father finally looked at her.
His voice was quiet.
“The King's youngest son.”
Lyra stood so quickly that her chair fell backward.
“You want me to marry a prince?”
“Not exactly,” her stepmother replied.
Lyra frowned.
“What does that mean?”
Her stepmother smiled.
“He isn't wanted by the King.”
Lyra stared at the letter.
Neither of them knew it yet...
But the two people being forced together were connected by a secret that could destroy the kingdom.
And that very night, as the prophecy awakened, something inside Lyra finally moved.
Her eyes briefly glowed with an unfamiliar light.
She grabbed her chest.
“What... is happening to me?”
Her father stood.
“Lyra?”
The lights in the room flickered.
Then every candle exploded into darkness.
A voice whispered through the room.
“The Devil's blood has found its other half.”
Lyra's eyes widened.
And somewhere in the kingdom...
Kael heard the same voice.
“Find her.”
He looked toward the crimson moon.
For the first time in seventeen years...
the King's greatest fear had begun.
The prophecy was no longer a prophecy.
It had awakened.
