"Thank you, Ma'am. You can go home and return in about three hours before we get your test results from the lab." Dr. Aisha said, smiling at Salma. She forced a smile to her face, standing up very slowly. As Salma walked out of her office, the doctor shook her head. It was clear that Salma wasn't ready to receive the news. And doctor Aisha had no doubt in her that Salma was indeed pregnant as she suspected.
Hajiya Raliya was sitting in the reception, anxiously waiting for her daughter in-law. "Well? What did the doctor say?" she asked eagerly as Salma walked towards her. The latter bit her bottom lip, trying to stop it from trembling. She felt weak and disoriented, her thoughts racing a mile a minute.
