"YOU'RE WHAT?" Safiya yelled, shooting out of her seat. Bewildered, Hajiya Rahama stared at her, wondering what was the matter.
"Are you sure?" she asked again, massaging her forehead. "Okay, hold on." she said, handing the phone to her stepmother. "It's Salma. She said she's been calling you, but you didn't answer her call."
"Is everything alright? Did something happen to her?" she asked, furrowing her brows as she collected the phone. Safiya remained quiet, standing beside Hajiya Rahama.
