Celeste We made it through the first two weeks with Ulysses. For the most part, he kept his distance. He had even left the premises—albeit leaving his pack here to keep an eye on us—to take care of other “council business”. We could only presume the business he was attending to was in advancing Victor’s directive. During the times he was here, he’d avoided us like we avoided him. We only ever got glimpses of each other, which I was perfectly okay with. Honestly, I was ok not having much contact with him. Ever. What he had done to me, to Constance and Gabriel was unforgivable. And what he had done to his own mother was unfathomable. He was downright mean. Possibly even evil. The less contact I had with him, the better. Plus, it decreased the chances he would realize I wasn’t Constance. B
