Running out of the room, I raced up the stairs as fast as I could. I slammed Natalya’s bedroom door and wiped the tears from my face. Once again, I was crying. Ever since I met Arid, I have been unhinged like a lopsided washing machine. I’ve cried more since I met him than I have in my entire life.
Suddenly the bedroom door opened, and Phoebe and Natalya strolled inside. Their faces were flushed with laughter and delight.
“What the hell has happened to you? You never cry,” said Natalya.
She rushed to me. Grabbing my hand, she pulled me on the bed next to her. “Tell me what happened.”
I sighed loudly. Natalya was like a pit bull locked on to a toy. When she wanted to know something, she wouldn’t let up until she had the full story.
