Some would say that some things happen for the better, that it is a must to come affront to prevent more damage, more destruction, and ruins. However, there are unavoidable storms, which remain uncured. Nightmares of the past, amid the baffled scenes without any explanations. The sight beheld which some failed to distinguish whether they are real or just dreams. That’s what she feel continuously. There are faces in a hazy blur whereas she would dreamt of. Late at night, her eyes would fluttered open only to find out that she was somewhere else, far from the home she knew. Far from the realm she grew up with or so she thought. Another night. Another misery visits her again. Breathing hardly, she sits up quickly—eyes both wide, and orbs tormented by the bloodshed and war she was allowed to see. To pry among, but never had she was given the chance, nor the power to help. The poor souls call. Men beg. Women carried their sons, and their daughters as they cries. It was disturbing, unnerving as their visage are clear, except of that man, who always filled her head intrigue, curiosity she could not even fulfil. “Maiden!” Lilac, the angel who was guarding her joined her in bed. “Are you alright? Are you having the same dreams again?” She said. Worries was far itched on her face. She was frowning, the deep ceased on her forehead, which had made her feel guilty all of a sudden. Whenever she would have those nightmares, Lilac would be there. She would always come at hand, although she knew that she won’t tell nor share what happened to her before that day. It was because, Lilac would be the one who’ll deal with her monsters, when it is supposed to be. And maiden, that’s what she was currently being known for. An unnamed woman, a young girl, but tomorrow adherent towards the tradition of that dimension. She was going to get a name. A name that would be honored by one of the supreme God, Sol. It made her excited, agitated as it would means she would going to get her first assignment the moment she had been created. Maidens like her as what Lilac told her, they are born from the light, the magic they were chosen to behold, and yield to what the God’s gave them. “I am quite alright.” She smiled softly at her, tucking the loose strand of her hair behind her back. “It’s just another dream.” “The same nightmare?” Of course, she knew what has been going on with her. She softly nodded her head. “Are they scary?” Lilac asked in pursuit of her questions. “Some are, and there’s a lot of blood. There are crying, loud explosions and screams, but.” She paused. “But?” Lilac seems to be anticipating what would she say next. “There are faces, which are all blur as if I was not meant to see nor as if, they are not supposed to be there.” She sounded baffled, perplexed at what happened. “But I can tell that I am familiar with them, which is odd.” The maiden trailed of. It was strange, the familiarity was, when in fact she knew that it was just a dream she dreamt of simultaneously. If they are, which is somewhat impossible, her birth embarks nothing. She was just a creation without any past, where her fate, and her future depends to what name she would be given. That would dictate what lies future ahead for her. What she failed to noticed was the sudden emotion flickering on Lila’s orbs which quickly fades as it did. She reached out, and grabs her hand. The latter gave it a soft squeeze, easing the tension, and the confusion lingering on her head. “Sometimes they say, dreams often mirrored our fear.” She said, consoling her. “Most of the time, it was because we are tense, anxious at what was coming. We fear the unknown.” The maiden took what she said on her heart. “Does this mean…those dreams, was it because I am afraid for the naming ceremony that would be held tomorrow?” She blinked her eyes. “It might be.” Lilac shrugged her shoulders. “Or it might be not.” “Well, I think I should better rest this fear again, and empty my mind.” The maiden said, before she suddenly wrapped up her hands around Lilac. Her action takes the latter with surprise. Caught of guard, left with no choice but to return her embrace. But Lilac wouldn’t deny it that it feels great to feel her warmth against her…unlike before. She quickly shook of her head at the sudden memories sprouting on each corner. It wasn’t the right time to reminisce. Thus, to pry on them, and remember what had occurred long before feels wrong. As it would only bring scars, which are already healed for a very long time. “Thank you for bring here with me, when I needed you to.” The maiden with a genuine tone sincerely said, uttering those words as she poured her heart out as how grateful she was to Lilac. “I will…always be with you.” In return, Lilac whispered absentmindedly, and closing her orbs in the process. She knew what she said was true. Just like before, she would always be with her. ** The night passed by in a blink. The once ebony colored clouds were no longer as dark as it seems, it became clear, and obsidian blue color, which spread its deluxe on that place. The angels woke up, a handful day again to fill themselves with their duties, and responsibilities at hand. Some to run an errands as they were set to visit the other Gods, Goddesses, and dimensions to announce whatever the order of the supreme Gods would be. They are the highest being. If the realm have monarch, a king and a queen, and so does their dimension. The only difference was, their authority and power was incomparable to them. They are stronger, and they could take away a life if they wouldn’t want for it to dither. However, that is not what usually happens. To maintain the balance, the God’s wouldn’t settle at such or chaos would come at front. Because the moment that the balance is destroyed, it would cost more than what they imagined beforehand. One of the reason why they prevent as much as possible the turmoil on the land. They wouldn’t do good. They would only bring doom. At that day, the maiden whom Lilac spoke yesterday night felt how nervous she was. Her chest was thumping. It was loud, and she could have sworn to hear it drumming, and beating much louder on her ears. She was nervous. She wouldn’t deny that fact. Nevertheless, what was it to fear? Isn’t it what she was looking for? She haven’t had no idea. Perhaps, it was her excitement combined with her agitation to what would be her name, and her first assignment. She was at that state, when one went closer at her, urging her to go towards the halls. “Let’s go, the ceremony would start.” It was another young woman, ripe of age. The maiden only nodded her head, but speak of no words. It was as if, she was left tongue-tied. She stood up from her bed, and began walking alongside with the other maidens. “I’m excited.” One says happily, in a pure bliss of joy. “Me too! I couldn’t wait to get my name.” They sounded ecstatic, exquisite in contrast to what she is being bothered with. Her insides was churning, her guts being reeled n matter how much she was trying to keep her cool. Calmness deems as if it doesn’t suit her as of the moment. She sighs, hoping exactly for this day to be good. With that thought, the maiden had let her eyes roamed as they walk in an attempt to appease her nerves. It was the angels who had first greeted her sight. There are many of them as they fly higher. Some are younger, and a little old, but no to the extent of having skin withering as they grow more older. They may have age, but not their appearance. They stayed flawless. They remain as a child, but that doesn’t mean they do not go mature. One and foremost, they look innocent, sinless creature created to guard those whom they are ordered and told to. But what made the maiden admired them so was their wings. Those white pair, which Lilac also has. They are wide-open, they look big and heavy, but for them—they carried it on their back as if it does not weigh a ton in spite of its appearance. She smiled as many of them wave to the maidens, especially to her, a kind look in smile that were telling them that it will be okay. She wished everything would be as what she is looking forward to. As they reach the halls, the majority of them fill it. There senior angels, one of the most renown for their wisdom. They are standing beside those warriors, who brimmed with courage. They are the brave guardian of their dimension. One and foremost, the supreme Gods, Sol and the two others whose face is concealed, except to him. They silently walk to their allotted sit, right before Sol’s voice boomed in a thunderous manner across the hall. “Let’s begin.” He said, and it echoed adherent making the maiden gulp, and fisted her small fist to her dress, whereas she was currently clad on. As the ceremony started, as the trumpets are blow, and the harp played, she pray that whatever name she’ll get, it would offer a simple fate, which she has been hoping or so she thought. Thus far, not all wishes are often granted no matter how much one asked for it. No matter how deep she prays. No matter what she can do for it. It didn’t take long for her turn. As she stood there in the center, she felt her knees slightly wobbled. In midst, she gulps as all eyes dig hole at her small form. She doesn’t like being stared. It only makes her nervousness to be much worst, but she needed it. If she wanted to be name, she needed to face it as what they had been prepared for before. She clenched her fist, and lifted her head boldly. She suddenly have the courage to free herself from her fears as they loitered. As she did, her eyes meet the God’s own orbs. They are ethereal as Sol stared rather intensely to her. It was if he was trying to read her soul, and to what her heart speak. “Your name.” He said. “It would be Eros as I can see the boldness you have, the strength you may not have unfolded yet, but remember, they came from your own fears.” “Eros.” She repeated the name, and it rolled perfectly on her tongue. It was hers, and she felt her heart fluttering at the sound of it. She likes it! But unbeknownst to her, it hold something, a fate unknowingly she would soon unconcealed.
