LEVI POV:
One month later:
I’ve met a cute chick during detention two weeks ago, after punching Sam in the face for calling Venny the f word after he hugged me in the hallway.
Venny hasn’t even come out yet, and he has already been getting s**t from that asshole. I don’t even know if he knows he’s gay or if he is just assuming. And if he knows, how the f**k does he know?
That doesn’t matter, all I know is that I wish I could have gotten another punch in. My mom told my dad about the fight and he was disappointed in me. Not that I give a damn. He doesn’t even visit me anymore since the divorce.
Anyways... back to the cute girl I met...
Her name is Alice, and she’s been texting me flirty things for 2 weeks and she has a sweet personality, good morals, and she’s a painter, a very talented one at that.
“Hey Alice, I was thinking we should go on a real date sometime,” I tell her as we sit together in class. She flicks her blond curls out of her face and smiles warmly.
“I would love that. I’m free after school.”
“Awesome.”
Alice is great, why? Because ever since I started talking to her, I’ve had less time to think about a certain someone’s plump lips, and voice and hair, and...
“What time would you pick me up?” She asks interrupting my forbidden thoughts of my best friend.
“Oh, um does seven work for you?”
She nods and the teacher tells us to be quiet.
After class, I walk Alice to her car and hug her goodbye, right as Venny walks to his car parked next to hers. She drives away as Venny unlocks his old Toyota.
He sees me and smirks.
“She’s cute.” He says as I walk towards him.
“Has Sam been giving you any more s**t?” I ask him and he sighs deeply and avoids my eyes.
“You know Levi, maybe it’s best I fight him next time, I’m starting to look like a scared little s**t, and I need to teach him a lesson myself. I was about to before you intervened.”
Indeed, Venny was actually about to fight Sam but I pulled him back and took over. I didn’t want to see him hurt, but now I realize how bad that is for his image.
“I’m sorry. Are you still mad at me?”
He finally looks me in the eyes and says no.
“But I am mad that you’re not telling me about this Alice girl. How serious are yall?”
“We’re not that serious, but I like her. I invited her on a date tonight. So you know, baby steps.”
He nods looking a bit deflated, before plastering a smile.
“I’m happy for you. You deserve to be with someone better after Aria.”
“Yeah, I agree, but um... it’s good to know she has your approval. Your opinion matters to me you know.”
He sadly looks down at my lips for a brief moment before nodding.
“Yeah, I know.” He says as he opens the car but before he gets in I pull him back and face him towards me.
“What is it?” I ask him and he looks at me confused.
“What do you mean, Levi?”
“What’s got you in this mood?”
“What mood? I’m just tired, alright? and I wanna go home and binge-watch Supernatural.” He says as he pulls away and gets in his car.
“Good luck on your date.” He says before shutting the door.
The hell is he acting this way for?

6:45
I arrive at Alice’s huge house a bit earlier than would be considered “cool,” but I also didn’t want to make a bad impression.
I text her that I’m outside and she comes out 5 minutes later looking beautiful in a little black dress, and short heels. Her hair is straightened and she wears minimal makeup. But that smile is her best weapon.
Aria who?
“Hey, Levi.” She says in a chippy mood as I open the passenger door for her.
“Hey Alice, you look beautiful, I’m feeling a tad bit underdressed.” She looks me up and down at my casual bad boy type of outfit and smirks approvingly.
“I’d say you clean up nice as well.” She says with a wink as she gets in the car.
We arrive at a semi-fancy restaurant and sit at a small table.
“Damn, if the tables are this small, I’m almost afraid to see how small the plates are going to be,” I admit, and she giggles.
“Too fancy for you?” She asks and I shrug.
“I suppose I don’t do Fancy often, but I’m willing to try new things,” I tell her honestly and she smiles.
“That’s really kind of you Levi. You have a really soft side despite dressing like a heartbreaker.”
I chuckle as I look down at my clothes.
“What? Would you rather me be dressed in a suit?”
She shakes her and smirks at me.
“I’d rather you not be dressed at all.”
My eyes bug out as I take a moment to register what this sweet girl just said to me.
She laughs and blushes embarrassed.
“Sorry. That was just a slip of the tongue.”
I shake my head chuckling.
“Careful with that tongue of yours then.” I wink at her.
“I’m... um, I’m actually waiting for marriage to do any of that stuff. People think that my parents are forcing me to do it, but it’s actually my decision.”
I laugh deeply. It’s too bad she’s off the table.
“God help whoever marries you and realize that you are not as innocent as you look. They may wake up strapped to your bed and think they just got kidnapped, meanwhile Alice the angel is standing over him in a not so angelic outfit, and...”
She cracks up and holds a hand over my mouth.
“Hush Levi! Someone will hear you!” She says in her pretty English accent and I can’t help but grin.
Alice is perfect, but why do I feel she isn’t the one?
Damn it.
Venny.
