“We talked this over before we came up here,” Hoyt admitted. “They're gonna need you to testify against Zhivago. If you agree to do it, we're gonna have to place you under protective custody.”
“You mean you're gonna arrest me?” Rita asked in disbelief.
“That's not how it works,” Kelly assured her. “You get to stay in an out-of-state hotel room. You can go shopping and carry on as normal. Only you'd be under police guard and asked to stay away from crowded public places.”
“Well, what about my job?”
“You'll be compensated. Plus you work for Pastor Matt,” Hoyt pointed out. “I'm sure he'd have no problem with this.”
“You don't sound like I have much of a choice.”
