Chapter 3 His Luna?

873 Words
Arthur's POV: The moment she heard my name, the woman in front of me almost fainted. Instinctively, I caught her, a strange scent filling my nostrils, and my body heated up almost instantly. I had to take a deep breath to calm the restless emotions stirring inside me. "Arthur..." A familiar, aged voice came from behind. Turning around, I saw Tony, my most loyal butler and the man who raised me, standing there: "The shareholders are all in place, and we don't have much time to delay..." I was indeed on my way to a shareholders' meeting. As the chairman, being late would tarnish my professional image. But right now, I was willing to put all that aside. My mind was consumed by this woman before me. Her eyes were closed, her lashes trembling, and only Moon Goddess knew how hard it was for me not to kiss her lips. "Tell them to postpone the meeting," I said without hesitation. "Arthur!" Tony was utterly shocked. "This lady has fainted," I interrupted Tony, "She needs help now." Two little heads popped up, belonging to two angelically cute children. Their faces were full of worry, and I quickly added, "It's not just her; her two children need care too..." "I'll arrange for professionals to handle this, but the most important thing right now is..." Tony began to say, but suddenly, he seemed to understand my expression. He looked at the girl again and lowered his voice, "You and her, there's something special between you, isn't there?" I didn't want to hide anything from dear Tony, so I nodded. "But this is happening too fast!" Tony sighed, "Alright, I'll figure something out... Maybe use your brother as an excuse, say it's a family matter, the shareholders can't refuse... And it's not really a lie, after all, it's about time you found a Luna." At the mention of my brother, my expression briefly stiffened, but I quickly smiled and nodded, "I knew I could count on you, Tony." As we spoke, my doctor arrived. After a brief examination, he concluded, "This lady is just exhausted and needs some rest." The extended Cadillac had already pulled up beside me. I carefully carried the woman into the car. The two children immediately followed, and although I instinctively wanted to be alone with the woman, I had no reason to separate the children from their mother. So, we all sat in the car, looking at each other. I could tell the kids were extremely worried. Half of their concern was for their unconscious mother, and the other half was for me, a stranger. So, I offered a friendly smile, "May I know your names?" The boy hesitated, but the girl immediately said, "I'm Nina, Nina Tyler." The boy looked at Nina helplessly and then said, "I'm Hermann, sir. I'm the older brother, and Nina is my little sister." "Nice to meet you both." Then, we fell into a long silence. Damn, I'm really not good with kids! "Forget about these two kids..." A voice echoed in my mind. It was my wolf, Fernbar. That peculiar scent was also spreading through its sensitive nose, and I could clearly feel it had reached its limit. "It's not the time yet, Fernbar!" I scolded it in my mind. "I'm tired of waiting!" Fernbar roared, "I've waited too long! I want her!" I struggled to control Fernbar, preventing it from suddenly appearing from the shadows of the car. Hermann was staring at me, making me a bit nervous. I wasn't sure if he noticed anything unusual, and suddenly, he said, "Thanks for saving our mom, mister." Hermann was polite, but you could see the worry and caution written all over his face. "But where are you taking us?" "We're heading to the hospital, of course." I managed to keep Fernbar in check and replied without hesitation, "You heard the doctor; your mom needs to rest." Hermann suddenly looked uneasy, his fingers twisting together and then apart. "Thank you, sir. But the hospital bill might be too much for us... we don't have money to pay you..." I was taken aback. He was only six, but he spoke with the maturity of someone much older! Seeing his worried yet determined little face, I was moved: "Don't worry about it; I'll take care of the expenses." To reassure him, I made a slightly theatrical gesture toward the car's minibar. "As you can see, I'm doing quite well for myself." Sure, that bit of boasting made me blush, but it clearly put Hermann at ease, so it was worth it. Nina reached out her tiny hand, gently placed it on mine, and with big, wide eyes, sweetly said, "Thank you very much, kind sir!" I swear to Moon Goddess, my heart just about melted. Even Fernbar stopped its grumbling for a moment! I looked at these two kids—one mature and strong, the other sweet and adorable—and most importantly, both incredibly polite. It was clear only a kind, capable, and well-mannered woman could raise such wonderful kids. With that thought, I couldn't help but ask, "What should I call your mom?" "Olivia, sir." A woman's soft voice came from my arms, "Olivia Tyler, sir."
