I felt all the color leaving my face. I had a very good idea what they intended to do, and my first thought went to Darien. Should they succeed, he had described very vividly how it felt when I kissed Zane, (Zane? Another enigma, what was his role in all of this?) But then I remembered something. Zantor! He was a vampire, but how? He didn't even smell right, and from what I understood from Darien, nobody except him, could make vampires.
