Theodore cleared his throat awkwardly, covering his mouth with his fist as he mumbled, "I suppose I'm doing alright?" I smiled and asked, "So, Chief Theodore, is it your love for the police department and dedication to the people that's kept you helping me all this time?" My words seemed to hit home. He looked away for a moment, then turned back, meeting my gaze with a serious expression.
