She was never meant to survive the wild.

He was never meant to love a rogue.

When Sofia, a fierce and untamed wolf with no pack, is captured and dragged before the ruthless Alpha King Kael, she expects chains or death not a claim of matehood. Bound by a bond neither of them understands, Sofia is thrust into a world of court intrigue, violent tradition, and ancient magic that sees her as a threat.

But Sofia isn’t just a rogue she’s something far more dangerous. And Kael, for all his power and cold command, can’t resist the fire in her soul… even as it threatens to burn his kingdom to ash.

Possessive, primal, and dripping with forbidden heat, Alpha Kael's Desires is a dark werewolf romance where love is war, loyalty is tested, and a rogue girl must rise to challenge the laws of a broken world or be destroyed by them.

Perfect for fans of Alpha antiheroes, fierce heroines, and slow-burn spice that turns feral.

Chapter One: The Auction
The chains around Luna’s wrists were silver-laced, meant not just to restrain, but to burn. She refused to flinch. The pain was sharp, a constant reminder that she was prey in a den of wolves, but she wouldn’t give them the satisfaction. The open-air arena stank of sweat and greed, the scent of too many werewolves packed in too tight. Their eyes glowed in the torchlight, hungry, wild, waiting. “Lot Twenty Three,” the handler shouted, yanking Luna forward. Unclaimed rogue female. Prime breeding age. Untouched.” A murmur rippled through the crowd. Luna’s stomach clenched. She hated that word untouched. As if her worth depended on what she hadn’t done, as if her body were the only thing that mattered. A tall figure stepped into the bidding circle, the crowd parting around him like water. Alpha Kael Bloodfang. Sofia had heard his name whispered like a curse. The Bloodfang Pack ruled the northern territories with a brutal hand. He was said to be more beast than man, a tyrant in wolf’s skin. Kael’s eyes locked with her, dark, unreadable. “Start the bidding at five thousand,” the handler called. Voices rose, money exchanged like meat tossed to predators. Luna kept her gaze fixed on Kael, heart pounding. He hadn’t moved. He didn’t need to. His presence was enough to command the space. “Ten thousand!” “Fifteen!” “Twenty!” And then, finally, Kael raised one hand. The auction fell silent. “Fifty thousand,” he said, his voice low and final. Gasps followed. No one countered. The handler’s grin split his face. “Sold! To Alpha Kael of Bloodfang.” Sofia’s breath caught. She should’ve felt terror. She did. But beneath it, something darker curled, something hot and treacherous. She had just been bought. But not broken. Not yet. Kael approached, towering and broad-shouldered, his presence suffocating. His gaze raked over her like a claim already made. “You’re mine now,” he said, fingers brushing her cheek. Sofia met his stare. “I belong to no one.” His smile was slow and dangerous. “We’ll see about that.” The silver collar clicked shut around her throat. Kael himself fastened it, the metal cool against Sofia’s heated skin. Her body trembled with restrained fury, but she didn’t flinch, didn’t pull away. To show weakness now would be to invite worse. The crowd began to disperse, murmuring about the record bid, about the infamous Alpha and his taste for breaking wild things. She was led, not gently, toward the pack’s caravan outside the arena gates. Two guards flanked her, but Kael walked just behind, his presence tangible like the weight of a storm cloud ready to burst. Sofia studied her surroundings through narrowed eyes. The capital’s underground auction district was a den of sin. Stone walls blackened by torch smoke. Shackles hanging from steel poles. The scent of blood, fear, and sweat choked the air. She’d heard rumors of these places growing up in rotten corners of the werewolf world where power meant ownership, where rogue females like her were sold like cattle if they were caught outside pack territory. Her mother had died to keep her out of this life. And yet, here she was. At the edge of the holding pen, Kael spoke for the first time since the bid. “Remove her chains.” One of the guards hesitated. “Alpha, she’s” Kael growled, and the man paled, immediately stepping forward to unclip the burning cuffs. Sofia rubbed her raw wrists, trying not to wince. “I don’t run,” she said coldly, eyes flashing up to meet Kael’s. His mouth quirked. “Not yet.” They guided her into a black armored truck, the kind used by elite pack enforcers. Inside, she expected a cage. Instead, it was more like a mobile command center. Luxurious leather seating. A minibar. A digital panel built into the wall shows a live feed of the arena grounds. Kael sat opposite her, legs spread, arms draped across the seat behind him like a king on a throne. “You’re not what I expected,” he said after a long silence. Sofia lifted her chin. “Disappointed?” His dark eyes studied her, and for a heartbeat, she thought she saw something flickering interest, maybe. Or calculation. “No,” he said. “Intrigued.” She hated the way the word curled through her like a thrill. She hated that her heart skipped, that her skin prickled where his gaze roamed. She had spent her entire life hiding from Alphas like him because they didn’t ask. They took. “I won’t be your pet,” she said quietly. “No matter what collar you put on me.” Kael leaned forward, elbows resting on his knees. “Do you know why I bought you?” Sofia crossed her arms. “Because you can.” “No.” He leaned farther, his voice dropping to something more intimate. “Because you smelled like prophecy.” That caught her off guard. “What?” His smile wasn’t kind. There were whispers in the north. Of a rogue girl born under the Hunter’s Moon. Marked by death. Destined to destroy the old ways. Sofia’s heart thudded. “And you believe in bedtime stories?” Kael sat back again. “I believe in power. And I don’t like wild cards.” So that was it. He didn’t buy her because he wanted her—he bought her because he feared what she might become. “You think if you keep me on a leash, you’ll stop what’s coming?” she asked. Kael didn’t blink. “I’ll either stop it… or bend it to my will.” She looked away, jaw clenched. The moon hung low outside the truck’s window round, silver, watching. She could feel it calling to the wolf inside her. But she kept it down. She always did. No shifting. No scent marking. No howling. No signs of what she was. Rogue girls didn’t get the luxury of nature. They got hunted. Kael’s voice broke the silence again. “You’ve been running a long time.” Sofia’s mouth tightened. “I was surviving.” He studied her for a beat too long. “Not anymore.” They arrived at Bloodfang territory by nightfall. A fortress nestled deep within the Blackthorn Mountains, where pine trees rose like sentinels and mist clung to the ground like breath. The estate was sprawling and cold. Black stone. Iron gates. High towers that pierced the night sky. It looked more like a prison than a home. Kael didn’t speak as she was escorted to a chamber high in the east wing. It had surprisingly beautiful vaulted ceilings, a fire crackling in the hearth, a massive bed with dark sheets. But it was also locked from the outside. Sofia ran her hand along the wall, searching for vents, weaknesses, escape paths. Old habit. A tray of food had been left on the table: meat, bread, fruit. She ignored it. Instead, she paced. Minutes passed. Then the door opened. Kael. She froze as he stepped inside, closing the door behind him. “What do you want?” she asked, instantly alert. He said nothing at first. Just walked slowly around the edge of the room, circling her like a predator deciding whether to strike. “You’re not a prisoner,” he said. Her laugh was bitter. “Is that what you tell yourself?” “I could keep you in chains. "I could drug you, break your will, make you kneel.” His voice was calm. Dangerous. “But I’m curious to see what happens when I don’t.” She stared at him. “Is that supposed to make me feel grateful?” “No. It’s supposed to make you aware of the game we’re playing.” He stepped closer. So close she had to tilt her head to look him in the eye. “You can hate me,” Kael whispered. “You can fight me." But don’t forget you’re mine now. And I don’t share what’s mine.” Sofia’s heart beat wildly in her chest, her wolf snarling under her skin. She should hate him. But the bond pulsed, undeniable. She could feel the dark pull of the mate link. It was faint, like the distant hum of a storm. But it was there. Dangerous. Irresistible. Kael must have felt it too. Because his hand lifted, brushing the edge of her jaw. “You’re fire,” he said. “I should snuff you out.” She met his gaze, fierce and unyielding. “Try it.” Kael’s eyes burned. Then he turned, and walked out, locking the door behind him with a metallic snap. Sofia stood in silence. Breathing hard. Burning. This wasn’t over. It had only just begun.
