The Light

441 Words
I looked at the sky and asked God why? Why are all of these happening to me?  "Please eat?"  I was back from reminiscing the past when I heard a voice.  I looked at the girl in front of me. She's holding a bottled water and a hamburger.  She handed them to me.  "T-Thank you..." I said and the girl just smiled.  "God is always with you. Always remember that. Everyone may leave you but God will remain beside you."  I look at the sky and my eyes heated.  For the past 10 years, I live in the street, and I survive every day.   There were a lot of times when I tried to kill myself but I still survive.  Why? God, Why? My attention was caught by the people running because it's raining.  I crawl to go back to my kariton but I stopped by a hand.  "T-Tay?"  My heart beats so fast.  I know that voice! That voice is familiar!  "Tatay?"  I looked at the girl calling me and as I face her tears begin to flow. My eldest daughter. My eldest daughter is in front of me.  "We've been looking for so many years! Finally, we found you!"  I cannot say a word. I am so happy to know that they are looking for me. Two men appeared and then they carry me.  My daughter is still crying and telling me she's sorry because she didn't take care of me.  I asked her where's her mother and she told me that my wife died 7 years ago because of drugs. Their mother told them that I was lost but I didn't tell them the truth about what their mother did to me.  My eldest is now working at a company and my youngest is now a licensed teacher. They bring me to the hospital and little by little with the help of physical therapy, I can walk again and talk normally. I understand now why. Why I survived after how many times I tried to kill myself.  I understand now why after 10 years, I am still here breathing normally even if I did not have enough food to eat and clean water to drink.  Alms... Alms... Spare me some food... My line for 10 years.  I thought I will be alone until my last breath in this world.  But God is really good. God is amazing.  I survived for 10 years. God help me survive because he knows that there's a family looking for me and waiting that one day I will come back to them. Trust God. Life problems are inevitable. No matter what you are facing today, God will always help and guide you in His own way, in His perfect time. Have faith in God, Trust him and he will provide. -Pennieee
