Bonded by blood

Fire burned. Screams erupted from flames ringing through Kaelyn's ears. "You must hurry and run Kaelyn. Take-" a village shop nearby exploded. Gun powder barrels bits rained down on them. "Take him and RUN!" The fear in her mothers eyes was enough to make her obey. The croak in her voice made Kaelyn uneasy. We have to get out of here... There is no where to run... No where to hide. Where is he? She ran towards the tree lining and waited for him. She knew he would come here. He always did. Their secret hiding spot. She waited as the fire went on. Death all around her, she stared at the horror scene in front of her. Bodies were piling up all over the village. Homes were destroyed. There were weird ugly creatures with sharp claws and grey coloured skin. Their claws were slicing through the village people like butter. Their unholy screeches made ears bleed. She shut her eyes scared. "Kaelyn?" A voice unsure whispered behind her. Kaelyn opened her eyes and turned around to see her father perched behind her. He wrapped his arms around her and hugged her close to him. He raised his palm to her forehead and a strange blue light flicked from his palm... "Daddy?" She started squirming but he held her too strong for her little arms. He removed his hand and led her deeper into the forest where a horse was awaiting her with a woman next to it. " where is mamma?" Kaelyn looked up at her father frowning. " she is right behind us sweetie." He smiled with worry in his eyes. " this lady here," he gestured at the brunette standing next to the white and grey spotted mare, "will take care of you until it is safe for you to come back." The woman nodded to Kaelyn and turned securing her satchel. Footprints were approaching fast behind us. The woman placed her hand in the hilt of her sword readying for an attack on the potential threat. Her father unsheathed his sword and held it steady in front of him. Using his free left hand he pushed her behind him protectively. The footsteps where coming closer... closer... then nothing. Father stepped closer to the bush and stabbed. A scream of agonising pain ripped through the bush... Bianca. Fathers face went white. He dropped his sword and scrambled towards her. " Bianca I am so sorry, I didn't think straight." Bianca looked to her side and her son stepped out from the bush. His brown eyes stared at Kaelyn. He had come after all. The boy looked from my father to his mother his eyes glazed over. The sparkle in his eyes were gone. His aura dimmed and shrunk till it was nothing but a thin line around him. Oh no... His lips pulled back, his fangs grew. He stepped forward- "No son!" His mother grabbed his wrist. He looked down at his mother and came back to his senses. "If she dies, I will have your head your majesty." The look he gave her father was one of a promise. A little boy will have nothing left to loose once his mother dies. His father died just after his birth. Kaelyn's father knelt down next to Bianca and ripped the black shirt he was wearing and dressed her wound. Kaelyn's ears twitched. She turned around to find a shadow in the trees moving. Her father tensed and slowly straitened up. Kaelyn stepped forward hesitantly, squinting her eyes to try to see better. The shadow changed shape as it came closer... Closer.... Oh god... It-it can't be! Her heart started to pound in her ears... "It's a hollow..!" Daddy shouted running towards Kaelyn. He paused... Staring in horror at the hollow. His face twisted in pain... It has mamma! Kaelyn screamed alerting the hollows attention. It screeched at them and headed towards them tossing kaelyn's mother into a nearby tree. Her body fell to the floor, limp and lifeless. Her throat had been torn out and her eyes where open and unseeing. She... She... Is... Dead. How can this be? Kaelyn looked from her mother's limp body to the hollow. It's sharp teeth were bloody with bits of flesh hanging in between them, it's skull like face was splatted with blood. It's yellow eyes were fixated on Kaelyn. Death seems to be inevitable. Kaelyn's father raised his sword and charged at the hollow. He swung his sword at the hollow but the creature dodged it and sliced his claws across Kaelyn's father's stomach. Her father leaped away from the hollow, dodging another set of claws and swung down cutting off the hollows hand... The sound that came out of the Hollow was deafening. " Take her! Take Kaelyn and get out of here! Go Amelia. Don't come back... Keep my daughter safe..." He turned towards Kaelyn's and smiled with tears in his eyes," I love you Kaelyn, we shall meet again one day." And with that he turned his attention back towards the Hollow. Kaelyn's vision went black as a soft material was wrapped around her head. She was lifted from the ground and placed on a horse satchel. Wait.. no! Don't leave daddy! She felt someone mount the horse behind her and then she felt the horse moving. Kaelyn removed the dark material from her head and saw she was out of the woods going back through the kingdoms village... she looked back to see Amelia was behind her. "Wait! I can't leave Bianca and-" A house on her left exploded sending her and Amelia sprawled on the floor. She opened her eyes to see Amelia running towards her... Amelia held Kaelyn in her arms tight. She started murmuring something Amelia didn't understand. The same blue light that flickered from her father's hand appeared and Amelia pressed her hand against Kaelyn's. Amelia stared deeply into Kaelyn's eyes. " You will remember this day again in time. Only when you are ready... Remember these words Kaelyn..." Kaelyn could see Amelia's mouth moving but no words were coming out... Sacrifice...
