Kaelyn was standing in the centre of a circle that had built up with warriors eager to see what skills she had in battle. She was equipped with four throwing knives, a bowie and a magnum revolver fully loaded. She was facing a demon who was smaller than the others, perhaps because he was weaker.
He was also red, but a lighter red than Tekhan. He had long white hair which was braided into a ponytail. He had golden eyes that almost shone in contrast to the red. He had small horns which were a sandy colour and a tail with metal spikes strapped to the end. His nose was straight and he had a strong jaw line. On the top of his arm it looked like he had marking branded onto his skin. He had several long scars on his neck hands and arms that looked like they were lashes from a whip.
Her vison shifted and she could see his anatomy. His heart beating, he blood running through his veins, even the electrical pulses that are created by neurons. She took in a deep breath and readied herself. She crouched down and kept her hand hovered over her throwing knives. She had yet to use these weapons and wondered if her aim was even good enough to make contact and do some damage.
Her vision shifted back to normal and the demons eyes narrowed. He made his move and darted to her with blinding speed. Her heart slowed and she became aware of her whole surroundings, the world turned into slow motion. She watched him slowly take out his knife and swing towards her. She stepped out of his way and plucked the knife out of his hand and plunged it in his back.
The world sped back up and he yelled with pain as he realised that his blade was missing from his hand and had somehow ended up in his back. The demon reached for it and with a yank, he pulled it out. Kaelyn watched as he turned his attention back to her and he gave a ' did you just f*****g stab me ' look.
Kaelyn smirked at him, taunting him.
Hell yeah, this b***h has got skills!
She started laughing at him doubling over holding her finger up. " one moment please, I need to get that priceless expression out of my head." She giggled.
That was a mistake.
She was yanked back by her hair and stabbed in the shoulder. Pain ripped through her arm as the blade of the knife tore through her left subclavian artery. She screamed as he held her up by her hair. He sniffed her and he bent down to her neck and licked her.
" Woman, your struggling makes me crazy." he whispered in Kaelyn's ear sending a chill down her neck. " Your scent is exquisite, it makes me want to bury my c**k into you after this match. Tell me, have you ever had a rage demon before? We like it rough, our women begging for our seed to fill their wanting sheaths. To f**k them until they are sore for weeks after. Would you like to be fu-" he was cut off by Kaelyn stabbing his cheek with her bowie knife.
" You have a dirty mouth that needs washing out. Maybe your blood will do the trick, asshole." Kaelyn spat. She will never be degraded by a demon, never! The two years of torment will not be for nothing. She will not give up her v card to just any being she wants it to be with her mate, whoever he is.
"You will pay for that later, I will make you my whore." he growled and threw her to the floor. Kaelyn had her breath knocked out of her. He was on top of her she couldn't control the flash backs to that dreadful time in Domariel. The sound of her bones breaking repeatedly only to be put back and healed by Tekhan.
She lashed out and bit the demon's neck.
She watched his memories. His battles with the king. His point of view bedding his mistresses, felt his pleasure as he found his release, pumping into their wet p***y. The orgies he has been in. His plan to betray the men in this fortress to give the king Kaelyn after seducing her for hours on end. She watched as the demons c**k stand attention, could hear his moans as she sucked the blood from him.
She decided his fate there and then... it's time for him to die.
His moans turned to screams as he fought against her but, he was already too weak. She reached to his chest and plucked his heart out, much similar to what Hannah did except there was no blood left to spill. He was sucked dry and she felt no ounce of guilt.
" What the f**k Kaelyn!" Tekhan shouted from the ring of horrified and even some turned on demons.
He pulled her up shaking her going on about how she was wrong to take his life. She reached for his face and cupped his cheek. He stilled instantly as she showed him what she saw, she didn't know how she was doing this but, it was what was needed to stop his outrage.
He looked down at Kaelyn wide eyed. She could tell he was shocked, its not everyday you could see someone's thoughts and memories through someone else.
He took a step back and took a deep breath. He released it in a sigh.
" I am sorry sweetie, I should of... I shouldn't have misjudged you. Forgive me please." He pleaded with his eyes.
" Tekhan, its okay. How was anyone supposed to know that he had plans for me. " She laughed it off.
Kaelyn heard whispering as she turned to see the one person who she thought she wouldn't again.
"Well and here I thought I hadn't found the right place. I am looking for Kaelyn Dragomire, she knows me. "
" Hannah? " Kaelyn's voice broke.
"Well f**k me up and call me a virgin, it's really you?" Hannah asked bewildered.
"Hell yeah its really me." Kaelyn smiled.
How the f**k did she find me not that I am complaining.
"Well are you just going to stand there? Come give this Harpie a hug!" Hannah started forward until she was stopped from a gun which was held to her temple.
"How the f**k did you find her and what business do you have here creature." Tekhan glowered at her, he was not going to take any chances.
Douglas suddenly barged pass the crowed and disarmed Tekhan with the flick of his wrist. He placed the gun on the floor and put his foot on top of it.
"There will be non of that thank you. You need her insight as much as I do pal." Douglas said winking at Hannah who looked at him, grateful for his interception.
" A seer? " Tekhan gasped.
What is a seer?
She is a Harpie, Kaelyn new that much from her lessons with her mother on the Immortal creatures. She had not mentioned seers.
Kaelyn scuffled then had enough of listening to the confrontation.
"Hannah is someone I knew back before I was taken from my home to Domariel. As in he was there Tekhan but... she did not stop them. Why didn't you stop them?" Kaelyn asked Hannah.
Hannah took a moment to answer as if she was deciding whether or not it was a good idea to.
" I saw two possible futures for you. One of them was you being taken to Domariel, to become the warrior you are now. The second... You were going to destroy the one thing you cherished the most... I couldn't allow that so I had to let you go because me saving you would have been catastrophic. I can't explain it right now darling but, I will in time. "
That will do for now, nothing makes sense but I guess time will tell if it ever will.
" Tekhan take her to her sleeping quarters. I will be in my room if anyone needs to talk to me later." she paused looking at Hannah, " For now leave me alone. " Kaelyn stormed out of the arena and into the bitterness of the snow. She didn't feel its coldness anymore. She felt numb. It was as if the whole world was against her.
She walked in the snow, the snowflakes laying bare onto her skin and into her hair. It didn't melt. Another reminder of who she is. She seated herself in the snow and watched it lay for what seemed like hours.
She felt her mind drifting back to that woman she saw in her dream, wondered who she was and why she dreamed of her. She couldn't understand why she felt familiar in some way but she had never seen her as a child as far as she could remember.
She stood up fed up of watching snow falling and decided to head inside, not before she spotted a beautiful grey wolf watching her. It was the biggest wolf she had ever seen, looking like it doubled the size of an average one. It moved closer hesitantly, as if it was studying her reaction. She didn't dare move.
Don't be a Lycan, don't be a Lycan...
She begged silently. The wolf was within leaping distance when she saw the colour of it's eyes. They were amber and glowed slightly. He came up to her and nuzzled his nose into her hand.
How cute! I always wanted a pet.
Kaelyn bent down and stroked his hair and scratched behind his ear earning herself a lick. His fur was soft and long.
"Are you lost little one?" she whispered.
The wolf whimpered slightly burying his head into her chest. She felt his warm breath fan her skin. She cuddled it, she had the need to comfort the creature as she too felt lost. The wolf backed off and sat in front of her. She sighed and turned towards the door to the fortress and started making her way back there. She stepped inside and was about to shut the door but was stopped as the wolf entered with her.
"Well I guess you can stay with me but, you don't go pee wee in my room got it?" She said sternly to the wolf. The wolf raised his paw as if to say yes and started panting obviously happier.
"alrighty then, this way." She led the wolf down the wide halls passing a few demons looking nervously at the wolf.
She had almost reached her Quarters when she saw the corridor that led to the west wing.
Ghosts huh? I wonder if Tekhan just heard a rumour.
She changed her destination and headed towards the west wing. The wolf stayed by her side with his ears pricked up on high alert. His eyes searching the area for any danger. She could hear the padding of his paws on the wooden floor. There were some very ragged rugs on the floor accompanied by some newer ones the residents put down.
She approached a huge wooden door and hesitated.
Is this really a good idea? I mean, I am all for exploring but am I going to p***y out?
The wolf seemed on edge.
Ah f**k it!
Kaelyn threw open the door and was met with a cold chill that ran down her spine as she stared into a huge sitting area. There were off-white covers over the furniture and painting. There was dust everywhere making the room dusty.
Kaelyn coughed a few times before she went and explored. One thing is for sure, Kaelyn was glad she could see in the darkness because otherwise, she would've broken her neck and many of her other bone.
The wolf was in front of her now. He led her down a hallway until the end where there was a door that had a tree embossed in the door. She ran her fingers feeling the bumps of the branches before she tried the door. Locked.
Maybe the key is somewhere hidden in this wing.
A piano started playing which made Kaelyn freeze. She glanced at the wolf who was already on the move towards the noise.
"No wait! Don't go there the ghost may posses you!" She whispered loudly.
The wolf huffed and rolled his eyes as he continued his assault.
" I am not being dramatic I really mean it!" She called out to the wolf whilst following being cautious. Never had she thought she would be ghost hunting. The again it isn't the worst thing she has witnessed.
She found a huge empty room . The piano's music was booming out of the door until the moment she had stepped inside. It stopped completely.
What the actual f**k! There ain't no goddamn piano...Okay welcome to spooksville k!
She entered the room to inspect its interior. Suddenly the door swung shut trapping her and her new pet.
The sad melody echoed through the west wing again, figures started to appear dancing along. In the middle of the room stood a tall man who looked grey in form, his eyes were the only colour she could see and they were violet.
He was looking around searching for something... or someone. His eyes were sullen as he searched. He watched all of the other ghosts dance with their partners whilst, he was all alone. He had an old fashion sense. Kaelyn wondered if he was before the Victorian times. Way before.
His clothes were ripped and had dark patches dotted about. Somehow he clocked on that she was standing over there and flitted forward. She heard him speak but his lips didn't move.
"I know you... What are you doing here Kalaeyna?"
That name again... wow is he talking in my head!
" I am sorry if I am intruding on you sir, I am here temporarily for shelter."
" You are apologising to me, and calling me sir? I am more than unworthy of your apology and your formality is not necessary. Stay as long as you like, I would like the company and a familiar face."
Holy hell I don't even remember him! What kind of princess am I?
" Thank you very much. I don't quite remember you, hence the formality. What happened to you? " Kaelyn asked as curiosity got the better of her.
He narrowed his eyes and his demeaner changed.
" Since the attack on your kingdom, the vampire's had no one to keep them in check... so many went greedy with power. Many kingdoms fell like mine. Vampires were sacrificed to the goddess of death but, even she turned her backs on them in grief. "
Goddess of death... what was her name again?
"Vienna..." Kaelyn said out loud.
The king nodded before he carried on his little history lesson.
"Yes, the goddess of death. She had gone into hiding when the vampires had become corrupt. The other immortals had begun to overthrow the vampires, infiltrating their homes and slaughtering them. We had information about a powerful witch planning to become the queen of the Vampire kingdom Marayia, we were about to set off to help when the attack came. My wife, the Queen of this kingdom fled with my baby boy. "
So he must be the wondering king Tekhan was talking about. He mentioned a baby as well... oh that poor little soul!
"It is said that the vampire Goddess, has died. We have no idea how."
Mother mentioned something like this before whilst her father was out hunting. She told Kaelyn of a great war that has broken out. The tears that she shed were for the Goddess. Her beautiful grey eyes were stricken with sorrow as she looked at Kaelyn.
" Who is the Vampire Goddess to The goddess pf death?" Kaelyn asked puzzled.
The ghost looked back at the crowd of the other ghosts dancing. Before looking back at her.
" Her sister." He replied.
Kaelyn noticed the crowd of ghosts getting closer to her. The one with violet eyes shifted into it.
" You must go, NOW!" His voice booed in her mind.
The wolf whimpered and backed up against the door.
Trapped.
Destiny can be cruel...
