I was paralyzed with fear. Our eyes were locked in an unblinking, unwavering stare. How could I have been so foolish! I was so concerned with the rabbit that I never saw him approach. I could not believe it. How could I have been so careless to give away my hiding spot. I finally managed to lift one finger to my lips and ever so quietly whispered "Shhhhhhh".
