Prophecy..

***Jackson*** ***Night before the ball*** After dealing with the Rogue in the cellars, I am beyond pissed. He was stubborn, refused to submit no matter the amount of torture we used on him. He didn't say a thing to any of us before he died. "Well, that wasn't what I was expecting at all. Normally, most rogues cower and start spilling out all sorts of incoherent information", Steven said. "You think I didn't notice that? Did you notice how this rogue also smelt almost like he wasn't a rogue?" "Yeah, I noticed that too. He still had the scent of rogue but he didn't at the same time, almost like he had a scent but it was just burnt", After hearing that, a thought started in my head. Was the Rogue Prince creating his "own" pack? In a way where you wouldn't smell completely of a rogue? Could the forsaken prince from up north be starting a rebellion to take over my kingdom, or his old one? Things were falling too closely to that stupid prophecy my father searched for when I was a child. *Flashback* 16 Year old Jackson "When the time comes, your son will find his mate, and the rebellion of species will fall upon the land. Vampires, Witches, Werewolves, and Fae will all need to conspire for peace against a crown fallen into darkness... Be warned of the daughter of a shunned shewolf, and alpha as she will be the one to conquer all species in the future. Ruling, or ending us all. She alone can kill her mate, and harness his strength. Including all those around her… Her strength and resolve could change it all depending on" "That is ENOUGH! I will hear no more of this. I am leaving. I will solve this issue myself. You said there was a change in the prophecy. You didn't tell me that it was my son's head that was in the balance now!" My father yelled at cutting off the witch. "Zachary, calm down, you cut her off. There may be more that she was trying to tell you." My mother started, placing a hand on my father's arm to try to calm him down. "Thank you dear, why don't you take your son and have a cup of tea and I will share the rest of the prophecy with your highness." My mother and I exited the room, and were greeted by another witch with mugs of hot chocolate that led us to go outside and sit on the porch. Before I could sit with my mother, I heard my father's roar, and he came stomping out dragging my mother, and I along with him. Shattering my cup. *End of Flashback* "Yo, Jackson, you still there man?" Steven said, hitting my arm to get my attention. "Yeah, Sorry I just got lost on a train of thought." "No sh*t, Sherlock, I've been talking to you for like ten minutes, and you were staring straight through me into another planet, apparently. As I was saying, I was informed that almost everything for the ball is set up, and it will be all ready to go tomorrow evening. Hopefully, all goes to plan, and you find your mate who has nothing to do with the prophecy, so the council gets off our backs. I hope I find mine. I'm tired of being surrounded by all your testosterone." He found himself so funny with that grin on his face I wanted to smack it off. I just hummed at him "Well, I guess we will see then. Yeah? Go on and rest for the night, and I'll see you in the morning mister. I already have glass stars in my eyes for a mate I haven't even met." That earned me a good shove from Steven, but he laughed with me. It was a nice distraction from the turmoil in my mind. "Alright man. See you tomorrow." I made my way to my office, and went to my bookcase, grabbing my father's journal that had been worn out from his use and my own after I took over. I was flipping through his notes of the prophecy when I noticed the back cover was slightly peeling, and something was poking out. I looked more thoroughly at it, and found a piece of paper with a drawing showing where something was hidden in his room. Taking the paper and going to my father's old room, I went inside, and looked at the sketch. It was a sketch of his bookshelves and fireplace. I started pressing around the bookcase and fireplace when I found a loose rock in the stone of the fireplace, and it pushed open. Inside was another photo of the little girl from the decimated Blood Moon Pack, and on the back of it was the prophecy. The rest of the prophecy. I read it over already knowing pretty much all of it by heart because of my father until I got to the end.. "Her strength and resolve could change it all depending on which mate she finds first, your son, or the Rogue Prince." "Oh, you have got to be f**king kidding me!!" Pissed, I linked Steven to meet me at my chambers, apologizing that I had interrupted his beauty sleep. "So, do you want to tell me why you called me here this late at night when there was nothing wrong with the pack?" I smacked the picture with the prophecy onto his chest as I passed him, heading straight to the liquor cabinet in my room, grabbing some scotch and pouring myself a double. "Oh, sh*t." That was all I heard from Steven as I slammed my drink back and felt the burn all the way down my throat and then to my stomach to warm me. "Isn't the Rogue Prince in his forties?? It's not even possible for them to be in the same age range as that poor girl for them to be mates, right? Like come on, that's messed up. I know your father never found her body, but she really couldn't still be out there could she?" "Yeah, I wish that was the case. The Rogue prince is only five years older than us, Steven, so it is possible, especially if she is two years younger than me if it was that girl. I just wish I also knew why my father wanted her mother's pendant so badly too. This just got so much more complicated." "Well there's nothing we can do now, is there, but it is good we found out what the end of this prophecy was, I guess, but we still have bigger fish to fry, like the increasing rogue problem, and this ball, so the council gets off your back." I nodded and agreed with Steven and acknowledged what he said before I told him to leave. I took a shower, and laid in bed thinking about that girl. She had to have disappeared and not died, or all of these strange occurrences wouldn't continue to happen. I lay in bed thinking about it. Tossing and turning until I fell into a dreamless sleep. Except one thing kept popping into my mind. The ruby pendant.
