Feeling strange

1321 Words
***Seraphina*** Walking hand in hand with Destiny out to the entrance of the pack house, and seeing Uncle Max talking with Phil holding a spray bottle. "Hey Sera, this is the masking spray. Go over towards the garden, and spray it on. Then we can go ahead, and head to the ball." Uncle Max says smiling at me and handing me the masking spray. "Thanks Uncle." I say with as much of a forced smile as I can. I started heading towards the garden when I could feel someone watching me. I pushed it off as it's probably just Phil or Uncle starring at me to make sure I put on enough of the masking spray. When I make it into the garden, I spray almost all of my dress, and specifically my hair, and marking spot. After I know it's fully dry and won't rub off on anyone else, I head back over to my family. "Alright! All set everyone? Let's get on the road. We've got about a forty-five-to-hour drive to the palace." Uncle Max says while clapping his hands together. We packed into two cars. Uncle Max, and his beta in his car, with some un-mated warriors. Phil, Destiny, and myself in the truck with two more warriors. I turned the music on, as I called shotgun, and beat Destiny to the front seat while Phil drove to the Palace. I still feel weird, as we are driving. I still can't get the feeling that I am being watched out of my mind. We are at the palace, and I am still surprised that the palace is so large, but simple. The Royal Family definitely has a thing for flair though, as the decorations are extraordinary. Down to the light fixtures going up and down the entrance to the streamers, and flowers wrapping around the gates, and walk-through arches. I'm transfixed by the way they decorated it with colored floating lanterns. Even in the fountains they have floating lilies with lights underneath showing an arrangement of colors. "We haven't even made it inside yet girl, close your mouth, or you're going to catch a fly in your mouth." Destiny said, teasing me, bumping into my shoulder and giggling. "Oh hush, It's just so extraordinary. And we may never see it again." "Then we better enjoy it while we can then, huh?" She started to drag me towards the entrance, but we were caught off guard by her father grabbing us. "Remember, girls, you need to stay together, even if, or when you meet your mates tonight, you need to stick together for your safety." At the exact time, we both said "Sir, yes Sir" with a salute teasing him, earning us both the dad look, and we busted up laughing as we headed inside to the Palace. Walking inside the Palace was a different experience. Not only was it beautiful, but it felt familiar... "Woah, look at how beautiful this all is!" Destiny said in awe, smacking Phil and me in the arm. We just looked at each other and started chuckling at her excitement. Especially since she was just teasing me outside. "It is beautiful why don't we all head inside" Phil said while hooking his arms to escort us both in to the ball. Upon entering the ballroom of the palace, it felt as though it kept getting warmer and warmer. Which was odd as I was wearing a dress that allowed me to be able to stay cool. I pushed the feeling off, and started walking to the bar to get a drink for what I could feel was going to be a very long night. Destiny, hot on my heels, following me to the bar. When we heard the Gamma of the King, and Alpha calling to get the attention of everyone at the ball. "Now welcoming, King, and Alpha. Jackson Major along with his Beta and Second in Command Steven Kelts." Coming down the steps to the throne on the balcony, I watched as two men came down, one dressed in an all-black tuxedo with a mask covering the bottom half of his face showing only is eyes. Just from his aura alone, you could tell he was the King from how people showed their necks in submission as a sign of respect, or fear... Even Destiny and Phil whimpered slightly. Showing submission. Yet, I felt unaffected until I noticed his eyes directly on me. I forgot to show my submission. As a teenager, after I got my wolf, we learned that auras, for some reason, never worked on me, or other alpha commands. That was why my Uncle gave me so many rules... "Sh*t..." I whispered, showing my neck, and that when I smelt it... I can only describe it as the smell of fresh rain, with a mix of cinnamon giving that cozy cabin feeling... Maybe a hint of amber, but it was intoxicating. Right before I could do anything, his beta came down, noticing Destiny and smelling the air before going rigid, and whispering to the King. "Welcome everyone, thank you all for coming. I know you all possibly have heard that this ball was for the majesty to find his mate, but it was also thrown, so we could meet members of some of the most respected people of the kingdom. There is an abundance of amenities for the ball. Please Enjoy." Beta Steven stated. As the music started. He began making his way down the stairs, straight towards us. That's when I watched Destiny look up, scent marking someone... As the King's Beta got to us. I heard that one word... "Mate." Destiny said, looking at me with so many emotions and excitement. I couldn't feel anything but happiness for her. "Hello dear Mate. May I know your name, and the lovely friend you have here next to you." Beta Steven said to her, looking at her somewhat shocked. "Ye..Yes. Sorry, I am Destiny, and this is my adopted sister Seraphina." "Beautiful names both of you have. May I have the pleasure of a dance, Miss Destiny?" He said, looking at her expectantly, but not before I noticed how he looked at me with suspicion before looking at my pendant. His eyes grew slightly, but it was so quick I think I imagined it. Destiny then looked at me pleadingly, to which I nodded at her and gave her a little push. When they began working their way towards the dance floor, I started to search for Phil, or my Uncle. Yet, I couldn't find either of them. So I made my way to the bar to get another drink. I still felt uncomfortably hot, and it was not a good feeling. As I was waiting for my drink, I felt as if someone was staring holes in the back of my skull, and when I turned to find who it was. It was King Jackson... He was making his way towards me with a look in his eyes that held a look of contempt. Nothing good, that was for sure, so I quickly thanked the server, and mixed in with the crowd before slipping outside. "I have to get out of here." I sighed. I was supposed to blend in, but I still somehow seemed to stick out like a sore thumb around so many people. I made my way to what looked like a garden with a fountain in the middle. I looked at my reflection, and didn't recognize myself. I looked like me, but I didn't at the same time. I wish my parents could see me. Then I heard rustling next to me, which alerted Amelia because we didn't smell anyone coming near. "Hello?" I said spinning around quickly not expecting someone to be right behind me. Spooked I decked the person square in the nose. "OH SH*T! Im so sorry! Are you okay?"
