Chapter 5Corey sat by one of the tables at Madame Toussaint, and the real Madame Toussaint, Josephine, Brielle’s mom, had served him a croque monsieur despite him not having ordered anything other than a cup of coffee. He wasn’t complaining. It was almost lunchtime and food was always nice. He ate, then opened his laptop to get some work done before the restaurant filled up. He had taken the two-seat table in the corner closest to the kitchen door, so Brielle could come talk to him when she had a few minutes to spare. About thirty minutes later, he found the mistake in the coding from the day before and a rush of satisfaction washed over him. It wasn’t entirely sane, but he loved searching for errors and correcting them. Few things gave him as much gratification as when he figured it out.
