Seven months later…
Corey was sitting by the kitchen table with a bowl of Maltesers next to his laptop. It had been four hours, and he couldn’t figure out where he’d gone wrong. He’d gone through the coding twice and couldn’t find where he’d made a mistake.
Hayden walked into the kitchen and sat on his side of the table. “The florist hasn’t gotten the flowers she ordered.” He ran his hand through his hair. “I don’t know what the f**k to do now. I’ll have to—” His phone rang again. He grabbed it and answered while leaving the room. Corey focused on the code again. It had to be here. He studied line after line.
