Before the I Do

Chapter Six

My heart is pounding off my chest as I reach the hospital.

My hands begin to sweat 'Oh God I don't know what I will find in there'. I said and got out of the car and locked it and made my way in.

I feel stares around me and I know its because of that article and yeah I wasn't also dressed appropriately. I was in my Adidas short and vest and had slippers on, so surely that grabbed their attention too but f*ck them and their stinking eyes; I'm here for a serious matter. I made my way to the nearest doctor I could find

“Doctor, where is Sanele Zondo's room?”

“What are you to the patient?”

F*uck, what am I to him exactly? Ex-fiancée? Almost wife?

Okay what am I even doing here? Maybe I just go home...

My thinking was interrupted my someone touching my shoulder

“Sorry ma'am”

“Oh I'm his fiancée” that sounded so bitter, I regretted saying it

“Okay then, let me take you to him”

“Thank you”

Doctor led the way and we got to his room and the doctor showed me the way in and left before I made my way in.

Okay he's not badly injured, few scars and bruises here and there on his handsome face

I laughed

“So Sya decided to have mercy on you shame. He could have done more damage than this”

Omg I think he heard me because he started shifting and then slowly opened his beautiful brown eyes. His face may be a bit swollen but this man is still handsome with his nicely trimmed beard and black skin; God this man right here is handsome.

F*ck why am I admiring him?

My thinking was cut short by....

“Taking a close look at what you lost?” He said while he chuckled and bit his bottom lip

The egoistic of his voice, nxx how dare he

“No no no hubby, taking a close look as to see which b*tch would lie next to you with your face like that”

He positioned himself and sat straight

“But you do know you going to pay for this, right? [he chuckled] I promise you, I'm going to make your life a living hell and you know very well I'm capable of that... and as for Syamthanda, God have mercy on his soul cause as soon I'm out of here I'm going to kill him with these hands”

He look at his hands and look at me and then laugh. Okay I've had enough... He's fine I've seen

I turn to leave...

“Leaving already, don't say I've scared you off already”

I stop at my steps and return to look at him

“ I'm not scared of you and had we, Sya and me wanted to have you dead we would have done that by now. So yeah I know you going to come for us because we decided to spare your life but be warned; we are ready for you”

The shock in his eyes was visible as we just stared at each other

“You sound nothing like the wife I should have married a few days ago... You've changed”

Okay his words felt like a sharp knife in my heart. Of course I've changed and he's the reason. I tried to keep myself calm as I felt a tear stinking in my eyes but I tried to keep it cool

“Of course I've changed. I'm not that 17 year old you used and who was naive that she kept falling to your traps Sanele”

“ I've never used you, I've always loved you. Yes I admit I made many terrible mistake while we were together but I've always love you deeply”

A tear escaped my eye and I wiped it off immediately

“Too late now; I've made my choice and you continue with your life”

He looked down in defeat and sighed

“ It’s fine, as long as you happy”

“I am happy”

I turn to leave

“No goodbye?”

I look at him from behind

“Goodbye Sanele”

With that said I stormed out and the stares were on me again

I got to the parking lot and unlocked my car and got in and Sanele's words echoed in my mind

It was no secret that Sanele can make our lives a living hell. He's one of the most influential people in Durban. And with his family name, he's more powerful than anyone can imagine.

I drove off and made my way to the hotel cause I need to be alone after this and I am hungry AF.
