It's 1909. People lived a simple life in this time,
James is a sweet boy with his heart on the side.
He loves reading and cooking'
His mom and dad ar simple farmers.
James was always helping on the farm, milking the cows, helping on his dad's land.
Soon James would be 18, and then it was time to marry a farm girl.
He knew it was tradition from when he was 5 years old.
Today was the day that he would meet Annabelle.
The girl lived a few blocks away.
He didn't know her, but he was happy that he finally could meet his future wife
While passing through the room, his mom calls him downstairs.
Annabelle and her family arrived a little early so the 2 of them could go for a walk before dinner.
The walk started a little awkward. James and Annabelle didn't know how to start the conversation.
A few minutes past and Annabelle started talking.
"A few things you need to know about me" she tells him with a high-pitched voice.
it sounded like cats fighting over a peace of fish.
"I am not your maid, I don't cook or clean, and I don't do farmers' work, so you need to do it all by yourself while I make sure a son will come" she said without taking a breath.
James didn't know how to react, so he kept is mouth shut and leads the girl back to their house.
After a few minutes, they arrive at the beautiful little farm James grew up in.
He always loved his house and in his mind he pictured himself and his wife and his 4 children, 2 boys and 2 girls.
He even got names for them.
The oldest is a boy named Alexander, his second born a girl named Lizzy, then another boy named JJ, as in James Junior, and his youngest would be his little princess Lexy.
The only thing he didn't see was Annabelle as his wife.
She was mean and lazy.
He went inside and got straight to the kitchen where his mom was cooking the best dinner ever.
Nothing could be as important as this night.
Her little boy would marry.
"It smells nice" he said while entering.
His mom smiled.
"Mom? Do I really have to marry this girl?" he whispered just loud enough for his mom to hear.
"My sweet little baby, yes you have to. we can't wait any longer and this girl is our only chance", his mom, answered.
"But her voice is like cats fighting and she is mean. She doesn't want to do any work. She is lazy. I can not fall in love with someone like her"
At that moment, James father walks in and laughs.
"Nobody said anything about love. You need to get married, so our family will grow again.
And the farm needs help. We are barely making it" he said while trying to taste a little bit of the food his wife was making.
But she taps him on his hand.
"I need some air" answered James.
He walks to a bench at the end of the garden.
He always loved the view of the lake.
Sometimes he just sat there watching the ducks play in the water.
When he was a little kid he spent his summer in that lake.
A few minutes later, he hears something in the bushes.
He waits a moment because most of the times is a bunny or some sort of animal.
But this time it sounded nothing like that at all.
He got up to look and within seconds someone pulled him into the bush, and he felt a sharp pinch in his neck.
"I'm sorry I had to do this to you. I can't help myself. From now on stay in the dark and never return home.
If you want your family to live, stay away", a sweet soft voice talks in James's ear.
He tried to look up, but his neck was burning.
"Run to the nearest cave. NOW!" the voice said.
Within seconds, the girl was gone.
When James finally finds the strength to get up, he feels so hungry.
Maybe he should get inside for something to eat.
When he was at the kitchen door he could smell his mom.
At that moment, he realized it's not his mom's cooking. He smelt, it was her blood.
If he snift harder he could smell everyone's blood in the house.
At that moment, he started running as fast as he could to the nearest cave he could think of.
He didn't want to kill is family.
He has stayed there until now.
He wakes up in a small room with only a lamp and the sleeping bag he's in.
He gets up from the ground and goes downstairs.
There he meets Ali, a beautiful young girl.
At first, he was scared he would rip her to peaces, but he couldn't smell her blood.
