Red Face

627 Words
My story began like many. I was born into a strong and fearless pack. They called themselves the Whitestone Pack. I was the son and heir to the Alpha Theodore and Luna Paige. My memories are faint and I don't remember anything more about them. Once you turn rouge, everything you were ever connected to becomes extinct. It's like the power is shut off and you become hollow and blood driven. Not all rogue wolves become like me. Few stay human and find other things to fill the void. I had no choice. The last night with my parents and our pack is what changed my life forever. I was thirteen. We were celebrating something. My mind wonders and I try to sort that fateful night. My sister had met her mate, son of the Beta. She was to have his pup. There was laughter and joy. The pack was eating and drinking in one second, then the next we were attacked by rogues. They had crossed our borders. Killing our guards as to not to alarm us of their assault. Pups were running, women screaming. My father, his Beta and our warriors tried to protect the pack. There was blood and fur and chaos. Wolves fighting rogues. I heard my sister scream. My wolf growled. I shifted to save her from the rogue who was trying to r**e and kill her. I lunged at him. Grabbing his bloody scruff. He growled and snapped and caught me off balance. He threw me hard against a wall. I hit the wall with a loud thud, knocking the wind from my lungs. He was a mere three times my size. I tried to pull myself up. He had weakened me. My pregnant sister tried to flee and he followed in pursuit. I was finally able to gather myself and I chased after them. By the time I found them by the lake, he had killed my sister and ripped her dead pup from her body. My wolf and I became fiereous and tried again to take him down. He snatched me by my throat and threw me hard to the ground. I could hear my body break. I could feel the blood oozing from my neck. I struggled to breathe. He must have thought I was done for, as he turned and ran back to finish off my pack members. I saw my sister's lifeless body and that what remained of her pup. Blackness was rolling in. I fought to not give in to my fate. I heard howling and screaming. I begged my wolf to get us up. He was silent. I thought he was dead and I was soon to follow him. Deep down, I felt him move. I barely managed to get on my paws. My ribs were broken. So was one of my legs. I wa nearly crawling, giving it the last of my strength. The screaming stopped. The howls seemed like echo's. What I saw, broke my will to live. My pack had been slaughtered. Blood was everywhere. I shifted back to my human form. There was no one. No help from our cousin pack. No help at all. Everything went black and I felt the tears fall. I crumbled and let the blackness take me. When I came too, there was still no one but me. Their bodies were starting to stink. I shifted to my wolf. Trying to heal what I could. I felt tears and anguish. Why had there been no help? Why did my pack die? I howled my last song of my pack. I was alone. I left the bloodshed and dead bodies and turned to the woods. I had no family. No pack. No home. I was a rogue.
