Chapter seven REED'S POV “Jeremy Sa Andreas” Alpha Robert called “Yes Alpha” “You're one of my best warriors, and you know that. I'm sending you on this mission because I have great trust in you, do not fail me” He said and I nodded my head assuringly and said “I give you my word Alpha Robert, I'll do my best to get all the information we need in order to bring them down. I would bring you and this pack great honor” A small smile curved on his lips, showing satisfaction, then he gestured for me to leave Don't get confused now, let me give you a brief introduction about myself I am Reed Alphonso, Second son of Lucas Alphonso, Alpha of The Silver Pack. Though I'm the second, my father chose me as the next in line to the throne, but in order to prove my worthiness, he sent me to spy on Robert Gonzales, bring him down and conquer the whole pack. Only then will I be able to Succeed him My older brother, Craig, wasn't happy about this, though he had always underestimated and made me feel less of myself, he still feared that I may succeed, which was the last thing he wanted, so we had a deal. “Hey, you look so happy that dad sent you on this mission, do you really think you could defeat Robert? He is way more powerful and stronger than you could ever be, so if I were you, I would better back down before even starting” he had said that fateful morning, when I was all jiggly and excited that my dad finally saw some potentials in me I was so happy that I could finally prove my worth to him, prove Craig wrong and make the pack members accord me the respect that I deserved “Quit it Craig, this would get you nowhere, I would go on this mission and come out successful, I know that would be your worst nightmare, so I'm going to do everything in my power to achieve that. Start preparing yourself now so you wouldn't go completely insane when that time comes” I retorted and walked away but as the persistent person that he was, he followed me “Don't be too confident okay, anyway, how about we do it this way, if you…” not this again, he was trying to strike some stupid deal which I wasn't interested in, so I cut him off “I said quit it already, don't you have something better to do?“ I said, the tone of my voice slowly rising “No need to start getting upset little brother, just hear me out, and think about it later” he continued “That is so rude” he said again, when I pushed him out and shut the door to his face *** “And here comes our aspiring Alpha, look how weak he is, is he capable of ruling over us?“ Craig asked mockingly “Nah I don't think so, he can't even win a combat against a common Omega” Nat, his best friend responded and they both bursted into a wild laughter, which I ignored “You know very well about mom's illness right?“ “Don't ignore me you fool, I'm trying to give you an appealing offer here” he said again. Yes, My mom had an ailment which was strange and unknown, we tried modern treatment to no avail and resorted to supernatural, contacting all the powerful sorceresses and sorcerers, still to no avail Her condition got worse everyday, she suffered every single day, and to make the whole situation unbearable, she happened to be semi immortal, if she died, she would reincarnate as another person but still suffer the same fate. According to the pack's witch, the process would repeat itself for eternity. Since resting in peace wasn't in the books for her, I felt it was a punishment, but for what? Mom was a very nice and hearty person, who couldn't even hurt a fly. Despite how powerful she was, she never killed or inflicted pain on her enemies. It hurt me alot to see her suffer and then, there's nothing I could do “What offer Craig? Why won't you let me be, I told you, I am not interested” I responded harshly. Because nothing good ever came out of him “Well, I don't think you have much of a choice, considering how badly you want mum to become relieved of her misfortune” I knew he was up to something, but I couldn't wrap my head around it. Anyway, it wouldn't hurt to listen to what he had to say, it could be of help to me. As the saying goes, there is always a sense in every nonsense “What are you getting at?“ I asked, turning to face him fully and he grinned in satisfaction “Nat and myself were able to find a powerful sorceress, who knows the exact cure for mom's ailment” he announced and my face brightened up a little “What makes you think I would believe you that easily” I responded with narrowed eyelids, as much as that was a very good news to me, I knew not to trust him that easily, he was well known to be mischievous and always played smart, in that way, he was seen as the “Cool Dude” by all, Dad inclusive “I have proof” “Show me” “Okay…But You'ld have to come with me” “Fine” I responded, and he shifted into Marcus, his wolf, I guess this was going to be a long run. I shifted into Will, Nat shifted too, and we began to run After about an hour or two, Craig halted, I did too and noticed, that we were at the pack's boundary “Why are.we here? You know very well that if we step out, we would become rogues right?“ I asked, through mindlinking, but he ignored me, shifted back to his human form and sat underneath a tree. Unlike other werewolves, our clothes don't shred when we transform. We all stayed under the tree for another hour, and I was getting impatient, I had training to do and it was almost time Could this be a plot by this guy to harm me? My subconscious mind said, and I became alert. I couldn't let my guard down, but he didn't do anything, he and his friend just made silly jokes and teased me to keep themselves occupied Soon after, a lady appeared in a white ancient cloak, her face was concealed, so I couldn't figure out her identity She also preferred us communicating in writing rather than speaking, which I found a little bit disturbing, but it was just a bit, maybe it was their tradition or something, I don't know According to her, in order to cure my mother's ailment, I needed an offspring, whose blood would be used in creating her healing ointment “Well, you can use my blood, any quantity you want, because I don't have an offspring and might not have one anytime soon” I responded “We don't need yours, and also, there is a price for it, the offspring would become useless and miserable, then die eventually, but of course you can always have more offspring right? That shouldn't be big of a deal” the sorceress wrote “What? Why would I bring a person into the world only to make them suffer? This isn't right, what difference would it make, making one person suffer for the sins of another, is that what you were told by the moon goddess? Because I find it really hard to believe. The moon goddess is kind, and would never inflict such pain on her creatures” I started to see many wrong things going on, but I could not lay my fingers on it “Your mother got the moon goddess angry at her, it is her punishment. We all know that the moon goddess's wrath is not something anyone would wish for” she responded and I scoffed “Stop taking this the hard way man, all you need do is get a girl pregnant, that's if you can, as soon as the baby is born, the sorceress takes the amount of blood she needs and we end the innocent child's live, so it doesn't have to suffer” Craig suggested “Wow! Such a brilliant idea, what kind of a father does that, huh?“ “By the way, since it is so easy, why don't you do it instead, she is also your mother after all” “Um…you're the one who cares about her, I don't, so why would I want to do that?“ He responded and I shook my head “I know you can't stand killing your own child, so leave it to me, as a matter of fact, all you need do is get the girl pregnant, once that is sure, you leave the rest to us” don't call me heartless, but if that's what it took to help my mom, then I was going to do it “Okay…. What's in it for you?“ “Smart one, so it goes like this, you would do everything in your power to conquer Robert's Pack, and any other two random neighboring packs, then you'll hand over the Alpha Title to ME” “What? Why do I have to….“ “Don't worry, i'll treat you and Mom with the utmost importance and respect that you deserve...deal or no deal?“ He asked, I had never been so confused in the entire twenty three years of my existence like I was at that moment. To cut the long story short, after much taunting from Craig, I accepted the deal He went further to making us make a blood promise ritual, where if either of us failed to deliver, something tragic would befall them,— technically he had delivered his own side of the bargain, so now, it was left to me, to fulfill mine
