Chapter 28

My mind spun as I forced my eyes open. I used one of my hands to block the bright fluorescent light as I sat up. I was laying on the hard, cement floor of a small room that was perfectly square. The lights above kept any shadows from forming beneath them. The only thing in the space was me and a bucket. I glared at it when I realized it’s purpose was for me to relieve myself in it. The locks turned in the door and I scrambled back, slamming my back into the hard well as the door opened.  The doctor and the professor stepped in. They looked like an unlikely duo. The young doctor looked like she would own any room she stepped into. The professor, though it looked like he was trying to pretend otherwise, looked like he wanted to disappear into the wall. It was strange to see him that way. I
