She would do anything for her first love, even if it meant agreeing to the unthinkable. An open marriage is what Derek offered, she accepted hoping one day he would see their marriage beyond an arrangement that was bound by his grandfather.

For years Naya performed her wifey duties so well, loving and caring for a man who would look everywhere but her. Only to be rewarded with humiliation and regret. Derek brought his pregnant girlfriend home asking Naya to meet with her, like she was some business partners. She dares not to complain because if she does, that would be the end of their marriage.

Accepting the fate of what she’d brought upon herself, she met with him. Her revenge. Her doting lover who would be a walking talking humiliation for Derek. She agreed to an open relationship with a strange man, all unknown to her that she’d just had an agreement with Jasil Ashford. A ruthless and fearless billionaire who doesn’t let go of anything he wants and Naya has become one of them.

Chapter1
Naya's POV. It was our anniversary, and I had rushed home like my heart was being set on a timer. Work had drained everything out of me and my feet hurt so badly. My head was banging from a serious headache, and my body begged me to just lie down and forget the world for a few hours. But I didn't. I couldn't listen to what my heart wanted me to do. At least not today. Today was meant to mean something, even if it only meant something to me. I dropped my back at the door and kicked off my heels, wincing when my sore feet touched the cold floor. I didn't give myself time to rest, I quickly tied my hair up into a ponytail and washed my hands. Then I walked straight into the kitchen like I still had strength left inside of me. I cooked his favorite meals. Not because you had asked me to do it, or deserved it. But because loving my husband, Derek had turned into a habit I didn't know how to break. In another two hours, I was done with everything, making sure it was perfect for the celebration of the day. Even though my heart tried to stop me mid-way, whispering he might not show up like the previous years. I told myself not to cling to the past and just maybe this one might be different. Truly it was different, it came with surprises that got me losing my mind. I sat on the couch, my phone in my hand, and I was checking the time every few minutes. 7:30pm 8:00pm 9:45pm. I sent a text to him. “Are you on your way?” But I didn't get a response from him. At 10:00pm, I heard the sound of his keys, trying to unlock the door. My heart suddenly felt excited and it was a stupid and hopeful thing for me to do. I stood up quickly, readjusting my dress. I fixed my face, putting on a smile that already felt tired but I just had to work it through. “Derek?” I called out to him, and he opened the door as my world came to a collapse. He walked in first and then she walked in behind him. She was a young and pretty woman, I noticed her hand was placed on her stomach, not protectively or shyly, but like she wanted me to see it. Like she wanted me to understand what was going on and Derek didn't even hesitate. “Naya. We need to talk.” he said, like this was normal. And the smile on my face disappeared. I looked at her, then I looked back at him. “Who is she?” I asked and Derek exhaled, like I was a stressful one here and I was about to make things difficult. “This is Lydia. She's pregnant.” he said and everywhere went quiet in the way your ears would ring after a news that you did not expect blows up in your face. Pregnant. I felt cold rush through my body so fast that it made me feel dizzy. My chest burned and my heart started pounding so hard that I thought they could hear it. “I…I'm sorry, what did you say?” I whispered. He didn't look ashamed. He didn't even look guilty for divulging such bad news to me. “Lydia is carrying my child. I thought you should meet her.” Derek said without any hesitation. Meet her like she was a business partner or a friend. Like she wasn't standing in my house and carrying the proof of my husband's betrayal. I looked at Lydia again. She didn't say a word but her eyes did say a lot. Her eyes scanned the living room, the candles, the table, the decorations, the rose petals and then her eyes came back to me. And in that look, I saw everything I needed to understand. He chose me. He has told me everything. I am the one carrying his child. You are just his wife in name only. She didn't have to speak. Her silence was louder than any insult. My knees felt weak. I had to hold onto my stamina, to avoid falling to the floor. That was how heartbroken I felt. “It’s our anniversary,” I said softly. I wasn't even sure why I said it. Maybe I wanted to remind him and I also wanted to remind myself that this pain I felt had a reason. “Anniversary?” Derek asked with a friend on his face. That was the answer I needed. And something inside of me finally broke. “You forgot?” I said and he shrugged his shoulders at me, as though he was trying to dismiss our conversation. “Comr on Naya. You know how busy I have been.” Busy. Busy enough to get another woman pregnant. Busy enough to walk her into our home and stand there to act as though this was reasonable. “Lydia is going to be around,” he continued. “I'm sure you don't have a problem with that. We agreed to an open marriage.” His words felt like a reminder to me. And at that moment I almost wanted to throw up. That phrase of his felt like a knife being pierced deep into my chest. We didn't agree to the open marriage because I wanted it. We agreed to it because I was scared to lose him. Because our marriage wasn't built on love. It was built on obligation. Derek's grandfather had arranged our marriage. It was a business decision wrapped in family pressure and tradition. I was a good match for him and the safe choice. The girl who could make the family proud. Derek never loved me. Not in the way I loved him, and when his grandfather died, Derek asked for a divorce from me as though it was just a contract ending. I begged him. And I lowered myself in ways that I never thought I would. I cried and I pleaded with him, I told him I couldn't live without him. I told him how deeply in love I was with him. And instead of trying to give our marriage a second chance and also love me back, he offered something worse which was an open marriage. “We can still be in this marriage together. You can still stay in this house but don't expect me to be loyal to you.” Those were his words and I told myself I could handle it. But that was the biggest lie I had ever told myself. And now, standing in front of me, his pregnant mistress. I felt the full weight of the lie I told myself. “You should move your things away from the master bedroom, Lydia would be moving in!”
