Threats

"Make sure the person you want to take a bullet for isn't the one behind the gun." Unknown "He didn't come back." I felt my body freezing as I looked at the boss with confused eyes. "What do you mean he didn't come back? I'm sure he's just in his room, he always closes the door and s-" "He's not there!" he ran his fingers in his hair. "The door was open, he's not there." I panicked. I pressed my lips tight and looked around me, "He...did you check everywhere inside? I'm sure he came back and left to buy something." The worrisome grew in me when I saw Namjoon's face. "He never came back to the company." he sighed heavily. "I checked the CCTV, his car never showed up in the parking lot and he was nowhere to be seen inside this building." I scratched the back of my neck, hating how the things can turn from good to bad in a blink of an eye. Everything was good before he left for his mission, we spent a nice moment together and he smiled to me before he got in the car. Why don't the beautiful things ever last? "Have you tried calling him?" I asked. He nodded, "I tried several times, he doesn't answer." "Let me try with mine." I took the phone from my blazer's pocket and unlocked it. I clicked on the contact icon and looked for his name. "Of course." I bit the inside of my cheeks and felt the anger and the disappointment consume my body. "He never gave me his phone number." I heard the boss chuckling. "Typical." I took his phone and dialed the number on mine. I cleared my throat and took a breath. It was ringing which means that his phone wasn't off, but he wouldn't answer. I rolled my eyes and put the phone back in his place. "Do you know what's his mission was?" I asked. "No." the boss shook his head. "That's why we need to ask the mission programmer." I simply nodded and followed him to the elevator. He knocked at the door and we waited for a moment until Taehyung shouted a nervous "C-come in!" The boss and I shared a look when we entered and found him adjusting his shirt while Jungkook pretended to look for some books in the shelves, his face redder than cherries. I pressed my lips, trying not to laugh because we were in no situation for that. The boss cleared his throat and said, "We are sorry to hum...disturb, but there is an important matter going on." The coach placed his hand behind his boyfriend's back and kissed his cheek, "I'll see you later." I heard him whisper. After he left, we sat in front of his desk and waited for him to calm down. I know how much it takes to go back to your usual state after a hot make out session. "Well." he cleared his throat and looked at us with a smile, "What a great day to have you both in my office!" "Thank you Taehyung, we came here for a reason." Namjoon said. "Sure, what can I help you with?" "I want to know about Tiger's recent mission." "Black Tiger?" he raised an eyebrow. "Let me check." he typed the password to his laptop. "I send so many agents on missions that I usually forget what each of them has to do." he chuckled nervously. "Here it is!" he opened a file and read it. "Alright, so I received a call yesterday evening from a woman named Lalisa Manoban. She's the wife of Yang Minho, the CEO of YG Bank, the third largest financial institution in South Korea." "What did she want?" Namjoon asked. "Her husband abuses her at home." Taehyung pressed his lips and stared at us, "She's pregnant." My heart ached just by a thought of how frightened the woman must have been when Minho hurt her. She must have had a hard time to protect herself and the baby. "Why didn't she call the police?" I asked. "I repeat, her husband is the CEO of YG Bank." Taehyung said. "He has connections, he has the power to turn the entire world against her." the boss added. I rested my back against the chair and crossed my arms, "Rich people." I mumble with a frown. "Not all rich people are like this." Namjoon squeezed my shoulder. "Yeah, I know you're not like them hyung." "I was not just talking about me." he corrected and looked at the mission programmer, "Continue." Taehyung nodded, "She asked me to send an agent who can frighten her husband." I raised an eyebrow. "She knows she can't do anything against Minho, but she said it was the only thing she could try with him. She thinks if he gets scared he might calm down." "Poor child." Namjoon shook his head. "Why did you sent the Black Tiger?" I asked, out of curiosity. "Cause he's scary?" Taehyung shrugged. I rolled my eyes. "May I ask why you are asking about him?" "He didn't come back." the boss answered. "Oh." he furrowed. "Now that I think about it, he didn't show up in my office to mark his presence." "That's why." Namjoon said. Taehyung rubbed his chin, "Maybe he wanted to take some fresh air or eat something after the mission, most of the agents do it before coming back." "Taehyung." the boss sighed from frustration. "It's the Black Tiger we're talking about. He never leaves the company if he doesn't have a mission and when he does, it's always when it's dark outside. It's nearly 3 pm and he's still not back!" The programmer and I looked at the boss with a surprised face. We knew he was the kind of man who rarely got angry, so seeing him this way made us think that the Black Tiger missing is really something bad. "Do you think...he might do something to himself?" Taehyung asked with a quiet voice. I looked at him with wide eyes, I never imagined he would hurt himself. Or maybe that's only my thought. "No." I heard Namjoon mumble. "He would never hurt himself, I know it." I looked at him with a sad smile, he was indeed the only person who saw through him, the only one who didn't think he was an antisocial monster. "Something must have happened to him." he added, chasing my thoughts. My chest tightened because I knew he might be right. ~~ After Taehyung gave us the address of Yang Minho's house, we hurried to leave the building and take Namjoon's car. "Normally, I shouldn't let you come with me." he said. "But you're the only one he can really talk to and it might help us." I smiled, "Thank you hyung." "But you need to promise me that you won't do anything stupid." he added. "Last time you got hurt and I can't allow it to happen again." I nodded slowly, "Understood, boss." He chuckled and ruffled my hair. I sighed and rested my head against the leather chair as I listened to the jazz music playing on the radio. "Hyung, what do you think happened to him?" I asked. I heard him sighing, "I wish I could know." he said. "It never happened before. Sometimes, he would get hurt but he always comes back to the company." I bite my lip, trying hard not to think of the worst. "Don't worry." I felt his hand squeezing my thigh, "We'll find him." We left the city and arrived to a quiet zone where only mansions and fancy cars were. It upset me how rich people get the chance to live somewhere far from the city pollution when the rest suffer from the dusty air and the traffic. My phone vibrated in my pocket, interrupting my thoughts. "Hyung!" I widened my eyes when I saw the number I saved earlier. "It's him." He looked at me and waited for me to answer. I cleared my throat and pushed the green button, "Hyung, are you alright?" I asked. I heard a chuckle. "Well I'm not sure he's really alright." My body froze when I heard an unfamiliar deep voice. "W-who are you?" Namjoon immediately stopped the car in the middle of the road. I read on his lips, "Speakers." I nodded and pushed the button. "If you want your friend to stay safe, you better come back to where you were." the man said. "Leave them alone." I mumbled coldly. "You wife is pregnant! Can't you have some respect for your child?!" I heard his laugh, "Do you think I care about that child? And I'd like you to mind your own business." "I can't let you hurt them." I haven't felt so angry in such a long time. Not only did he have the man I care the most about, but I was also worried about the pregnant woman. "If you take a single step inside my house, get ready to lose that stupid company of yours." I saw Namjoon clenching his fists. "A simple call from me and the police of the entire country will surround all your people and finish them." "Shut up you asshole!" Namjoon couldn't contain himself. "Oh, you are two." Minho scoffed. "Then let me tell you one thing, if you get your nasty asses to my house, I will kill your friend and my wife." I froze and looked at the boss with a worried face. Minho didn't let us the chance to add a word because he already hung up. "What should we do?" I asked, feeling my heart beating with the speed of light. "He threatened to destroy the company and k...kill them." He scratched his head and hit the steering wheel strongly with his fist, "DAMN IT!" he shouted. I lowered my head and covered my face in order not to show him my tears. I hated being weak during the hardest moments, I hated not being able to do anything for them. The boss stayed silent for a long moment, probably thinking of a way to solve the problem. "Hyung." "We need to get them out of that house." he said. "What?" I gulped. "But he will k-" "I won't let him do so!" he shouted. "No one hurts my agents and no one ruins our missions!" I simply nodded. "What...should we do then?" I asked. He started the car and we drove in the middle of the mansions until we spotted the one Taehyung showed us in the pictures. He parked a little far from there and left the car. I followed him behind the vehicle and saw him open the trunk. I wasn't surprised to see a metal suitcase filled with guns. "Take this." I took the weapon with shaky hands. I may have been training to shoot in the company, but it was the first time I would use one outside. "Don't aim for the heart of the head." he told me. "He might be dangerous, but we won't like to risk killing someone else." I nodded. "If you feel the need to shoot, aim for his legs or his arms." He closed the trunk and locked the car before we walked toward the mansion. A red Porsche was parked outside, surely because they have other cars inside the garage. "We should find a way to get to the basement." Namjoon said. "How do you know they're in the basement?" I furrowed. "Years of experience." he experienced. "They always hide their victims in the same ass basement." he rolled his eyes. "He's not professional, I'm sure he never did this before." I followed him behind the mansion, making sure to walk discreetly. "Here, a door." Namjoon whispered. We stood before a wooden door and hurried to open it. "Told you." he chuckled when it opened immediately, "He's such an amateur." I turned on my phone's torch and we walked down the stairs that leaded to the basement. The boss took his gun and pointed it to the front while he walked slowly in the dark, and all I did was to imitate him. I pressed my lips hard and made sure not to make a sound with my shoes. The wooden ground certainly made it difficult for me. "They're here." He whispered. I lifted my phone and gasped when I spotted the Black Tiger and a blond girl sitting in the corner, their hands and legs attached with a rope and their mouths covered with silver tape. "Typical." Namjoon shook his head and walked toward them. "Sorry for being late Tiger." I hurried to look for something sharp that'll help me cut the rope. "We wondered why you didn't come back to the company." I turned around and saw them shaking their heads violently, their eyes getting wider. I approached them and I was about to say something when I felt something against the back of my head. I froze because I knew exactly what it was. "I thought I warned you." Minho said. "I wonder why people tend to be stubborn." I closed my eyes and took a sharp breath. I didn't want to repeat the same mistake I made with Geumsik, I needed to fight back, I shouldn't loose up my guard. "Release them." I said with a more confident tone. "Oh." he chuckled. "Or else what?" "I have a gun too, you know." I smirked. "You have more chances to die than I do." he said against my ear. "Why? Well because I just need to pull the trigger and your head will explode right away." I saw the Black Tiger looking at me with a frightened face. I just smiled to comfort him and make him believe that I'll be alright. "Now that you came, I'll be glad to call the police." Minho said. "It's finally time for the stupid ass agents who never mind their own business to get arrested." I heard him unlocking his phone and before he could do anything, the boss threw himself on him and both fell to the ground. Lisa shook her head and cried when he accidentally pulled the trigger. Fortunately, no one got hurt. Namjoon punched his face, placing his legs in his sides. He took the gun away from his hand and threw it far from his reach. I looked around me and spotted a tool box. I opened it and looked for a cutter. I hurried to kneel behind Lisa and the Black Tiger to cut the ropes. I could untie the young woman who gave me the saddest smile. I gently removed the tape that covered her mouth and heard whisper a quiet "Thank you". Her face and neck were full of dark bruises and a small wound was next to her left eye. When I was about to untie the Black Tiger, the boss let out a loud cry. I lifted my head and widened my eyes when I saw his leg bleeding. The asshole had a knife. "Hyung!" I ran to push Minho away from the boss. "Damn hyung." I cried when I saw the deep cut on his thigh. "It's okay." he said with a breathless voice. "Untie Tiger and let him help you." he rested his head on the ground and groaned in pain. Right when I stood up, my heart stopped when I saw a gun aiming at Tiger's head. "No." I whispered. "Y-you can't do that." "Really?" Minho smirked. "What makes you think I can't finish your friend?" "Minho-ah, please." Lisa cried. "Please stop this insanity." "You shut up!" he slapped her hard with his free hand. Namjoon pushed his gun toward me and I hurried to take it. I looked at Minho with killer eyes and aimed my gun at him. "If you shoot, I shoot." he said with a smirk. I looked at the Black Tiger, tears falling from my eyes. I saw him nodding violently, asking me to shoot the man. I couldn't believe he would risk his life for us. "Jimin don't." I heard Namjoon mumble. In all my life, I never felt this weak. I didn't know what to do, if I shot him, I knew I would lose the Black Tiger and at the same time I needed to kill Minho or else he will end all of us. I heard the agent mumble something under the tape. I could hear a muffled "Shoot!" and it broke my heart. "See?" Minho looked at Namjoon. "You're just useless agents and I'll make sure to kill of you tonight." he put his hand behind Tiger's neck and smirked at me, "Say goodbye to your friend." "No!" I cried when I saw his finger pulling he trigger. I fell on my knees when I heard the gunshot. I couldn't help but scream and cover my tears with my hands. My heart beat faster than ever, my legs were numb and my hands were shaking so badly that my gun fell on the ground. I was scared to lift my head, I was afraid to see the man I came to save passing before my eyes. "Jimin." I heard Namjoon's weak voice. "No." I shook my head. "I can't." "Jimin!" he screamed. I opened my eyes slowly and gasped when I saw the man lying on the ground, inert, blood coming out of his head. "Oh my god!" Lisa covered her mouth. The young woman was holding a gun in her hand, she was horrified by her act, she was surprised to see her husband dead on their basement's ground. "You killed him." I said with a breathless voice. I hurried to walk toward the Black Tiger and untie him. He removed the tape and I frowned when I saw the bruises on his face too. He rolled his eyes and the first word that left his mouth was, "i***t". I chuckled, tears falling non-stop on my cheeks. I took him in my arms and hugged him tightly, "You're safe." I whispered and kissed the back of his neck. Namjoon's groans interrupted. "Oh my god." I ran to him and tore my shirt's sleeve to put it around the wound in order to stop the bleeding. Watching action movies sure help from time to time. "We need to get you to the clinic." I told him. "I think she needs more help than I do." he pointed to the young woman with his chin. Lisa wasn't moving. She was still in the same position, holding the gun and looking at her dead husband. I sighed and walked toward her. I took the gun away from her hand and squeezed her shoulder gently. The look on her face reminded me of myself after I killed Junsun and Heonwoo. That feeling you get when you finally realize what you've done. "I-I killed him." she couldn't breathe properly. I caressed her hair and wiped her tears, "Please, you did the right thing." I whispered. I felt pitiful because I would die to have someone whisper those words to me back when I killed them. "No...no!" she covered her face and fainted on the ground. "What have I done?!" I knelt before her, crying with her. "Lisa-ssi, he was bad, he hurt you. You did the right thing." She shook her head, "No..." I sighed, "Think about your baby, he or she wouldn't like to see their mother getting hurt. It's painful." She uncovered her face and looked at me with her sad baby eyes. "It's a girl." she tried to smile. "That's wonderful." I smiled. "Have you thought about a name?" "Kulap." she said. "It means rose in Thai." "Beautiful." I whispered, looking at her growing belly. "We should go before the neighbors call the police." Namjoon said, ruining our short moment of peace. Tiger stood up and helped the boss stand up when I helped the young woman. "W-what will happen now? They'll arrest me!" she cried. "There is no way I would let this happen." Namjoon said. "I can't let a pregnant woman spend her days in jail." "What should I do then?" she asked, her entire body shaking from fear. The boss looked at the Black Tiger, "Get rid of my blood, the guns and the cutter Jimin used. Don't let any trace of us here." The agent nodded and hurried to execute the order. I stood next to the boss to let him lean against me. "Lisa-ssi." he looked at the blond girl with a gentle smile. "Would you like to join us? I promise we would offer you all the treatment and all the care you'll need during your pregnancy and after you give birth to your little girl." "B-but won't they find me?" "They might find out who killed Minho, but if you come with us you'll be safe." Lisa wiped a tear and caressed her belly, "I'm sorry Kulap." she whispered. "Mommy will protect you." She looked at us and gave us a small nod, "I'll join you."
