Sofia's POV We rolled slowly out of the forest on the gravel road that brought us in. Owen and Alpha David drive in front of us. The pleasant atmosphere around breakfast has been replaced by an unpleasant pressure on my chest. As if someone has put their hand around my heart and squeezed it. Not enough to force it to stop, but enough to make it hurt. The anxiety about returning home is much greater than expected. It's agonizing. I have not told my aunts and uncle that I'm back yet. They think that I will come during the day. And that I will visit them first before doing anything else. I could not see them before this, and I can not do this after seeing them.
