The Summermoon

Sofia's POV I can't wait until I can get out of this truck. I need to stretch my legs, and my back and move more than an inch at a time. We have been on the road for one and a half-day when we reach the county border. From here, it's only half an hour before we're on the Summermoon's land. The signs by the road are familiar, and so is the scenery. This used to be home! Jacob drove through the night, making sure we wouldn't waste time. I kept him company for as long as I could before falling asleep myself. The sign Beechwood lets me know we are here. The nervousness is bubbling in my stomach. I've never actually been in this part. They stay very private, and now I know why. Lucas is following the directions on the GPS as we enter a dense forest. I can't see anything out of the ordinary. "Is this right?" I mumble to Lucas, and scout through the window. He chuckles at me before pushing Jacob's side hard to wake him up. Jacob sits up straight in his seat - "Are we there yet?" he grunts. "Yep, they expect us, don't they?" "They do!" Lucas nods and turns off the main road, pulling up onto a dirt road that seems to lead out into nowhere. We drive slowly further, and further into the forest. As the trees get taller and older, the road gets more narrow until we eventually are stopped! At a gate, two intimidating men stand like on guard. Relaxed they leaned back towards large rocks along the sides. I guess they are guards, at least. My mouth becomes dry, and my palms sweaty. What's going to happen now? My worked-up brain gets a big disappointment, Jacob gives a slight nod, and the men move out of the way, opening the gate and then letting us pass.  "Calm down, honey! You're making me nervous..." Lucas jokes, but to no use. I'm surrounded by unknown wolves and on their land. The forest becomes more sparse, and we reach the edge of a picturesque village with small cottages and well-kept gardens. Each plot is framed by a well-kept, white, wooden fence! I sit and stare out the window at all this beauty. I could never have imagined this when we turned off the road. There is a society in here. And a big one at that! It's only after we have passed the village and its cute houses that I notice the sand-blonde wolf next to us. It jogs effortlessly next to the car like an escort. The tongue of the massive animal hangs out of our mouths, and the alert eyes look at us, alternately at the area around us. My entire focus is on the wolf until Lucas utters the words: "We're here!" I'm in awe of this place! The three-story stone mansion in front of me is breathtaking. From each side of the house, two wings extend as extensions. They act as outstretched arms around the cobblestone courtyard in front of the house. Under every window on the ground floor, well-groomed rose bushes grow. The large white flowers look like soft little clouds stuck among the thorny stems. In front of the impressive building stands a tall, handsome man and a stunning woman. The wolf bows its head towards them before leaving, going back the way it came. Jacob jumps out and opens my door for me, helping me down. The woman I don't know ruches over and take both of my hands in hers.  "Sofia Bell! We have heard so much about you. Welcome to the Summermoon! I am Luna Aida White, and this is my husband and Alpha David White!" She introduces herself and her husband in one go. She's a gorges woman with bright blue eyes and a warm smile on her peachy lips, her entire being seems to radiate confidence and sincerity. She is shorter than me with a rounder motherly figure and strawberry red hair in soft waves. David White is tall and lean, but he looks strong. His eyes are silvery gray under thick eyebrows in a narrow face. His sandy-blond hair is combed back, but he is dressed casually. As a whole, he manages to impress with his posture and person. He walks up to us and greets us calmly. He shakes hands with Jacob and Lucas before taking my hand in his, holding them carefully.   "Welcome, Sofia! I am deeply sorry about the circumstances leading you to us!" "Thank you!" I say, smiling at them both. "Let your yummy snacks take the bags, I'll show you to your room. We are truly glad to have you stay with us!" Luna Aida takes me by my arm and drags me with her up the stairs, and into the house all while telling me about it. I glance back at my 'yummy snacks' as I'm pulled into the house.  Luna Aida gives me a full tour of the house before taking me to or room. She is a bundle of excitement. Her husband is her complete opacity, he is calm and collected throughout. They are probably the most friendly person I have ever met in my life.  *** After we have settled in and the first excitement has died down some, we have a nice lunch together with the Whites. Aida and David introduced us to their daughter Molly, a lovely three-year-old and a replica of her father. Calm, with silver eyes and sandy-blond hair in two neat french braids.  As we sit at the table she leans into me and whispers -"Can I have some of your yummy snacks, please?" "What snacks?" I whisper back, just as secretive. "I heard mommy say that you have yummy snacks!" I try my absolute hardest not to giggle at this, she looks so serious and adorable in every way. "What kind of snacks would you like?" I say, biting my tongue. She tilts her head in the cutest way possible before answering. "Chocolate chip cookies," she whispers with a dreamy look. "I'm afraid I don't have those, but we can bake some if you want to?"  Her face erupts into the brightest possible smile I have ever seen before she nods eagerly. When I look up from our private conversation, Aida's bright eyes met mine with a smile in them. Several batches of cookies and a ton of fun later, I'm as happy as can be! The White family is absolutely wonderful! So welcoming, friendly, and hospitable! After dinner, Molly is my new best friend! I'm even invited to listen to the bedtime story. Molly has a book with birds in it, for every bird, there are little buttons to push to listen to their sounds. Blackbirds, crows, Robins, and many more. We read, and we listen until it's time to put out the light and walk down to my yummy snacks. As we walk through the corridors on the top floor, Aida takes me by my arm again.  "So, two! How is it?" She asks with the same amount of excitement as before. I laugh at her, "I don't know!" I reply sincerely. She looks at me in total shock before asking - "Why the hell not? That's two yummy men you've got there!" "I'll try them out eventually! You don't buy a car without testing it, right?" I joke. "You better tell me everything! I love mine, don't get me wrong, but two is always two!" With a promise on giving her every detail, we walk down arm in arm, laughing throughout the house. Jacob and Lucas are out in the backyard with David, drinking whisky in the evening sun. Aida's eyes clouds over. She then turns to me with one of her radiant smiles. "Let's go for a walk! You must feel the need after all those hours in that truck!" "That was nothing compared to the two weeks in Hugos horse-trailer!" I tell her honestly with a sting to my chest. "Of course not, I didn't mean to imply...!" she shrieked, waving her hands and head apologetic. "I know... I shouldn't have said that! I'm sorry!" I laugh humorless, trying to bring us back to the way things were before my stupid comment.  "What are they going to do with him?" She cautiously wonders as we walk out the front door.  "I don't know. I haven't asked about it!" I admit, "I haven't thought much about him, to be honest. I have been too busy with the thoughts of my family and my sisters!" I tell her. She nods deep in thought.  "The other girls, you consider them your sisters?" "Yes! One of them is the further Luna of the New moon..." After beginning to talk about them, I can't stop. It's like the words need to come out. I miss them. I fail them, even though I know I couldn't do anything differently. Aida keeps quiet and listens, except for letting out tiny gasps and whimpers now and then.  When my story has come to an end, we stay quiet and keep o walking in the summer evening. The leaves rustle low, and the wind whistles gently in the treetops, which makes them sway back and forth. The cool breeze makes the evening a bit chilly making me shudder. Aida seems unfazed by it and walks on deep in thought.  "Where you born a wolf?" I ask curiously. "Yes, I have lived here in the Summermoon for my whole life. David and I have been best friends the entire time!" She quickly answers, understanding my need to change the topic. "How is it?"  "It's hard to describe," She laughs, "I have always been a wolf, or at least I have always known I am one. I guess it's fun!" "Isn't it crowded in your mind, charing it with another being?" "No! Lilly is my best friend. She encourages me, supports me, and makes me stronger! She is a part of me, my personality. We coexist!" She states, "are you considering letting Jacob turn you? What does Lucas think about it? He is a bear..." "They both prefer me to become a wolf, but only if I want to. They don't expect me to do it!"   She nods at that, and we walk on.  "Is there anything I need to know, as a female, about being a wolf?" "If you become a she-wolf, the bond to your yummy men will be stronger. And if you want them now, gees, that nothing compared to how you're going to feel later! The need for them will be endless. Oh! You will go into heat once a month!" "Heat?" I question with a frown. "Yes, like ovulating times ten. You're going to be a horny mess unable to do anything else but get f****d until you pass out!" "You're really selling this to me!" I laugh. "Oh girl, please, you only have to take it. They'll do all the work! I promise!" She giggles with a wink. "But you're gonna be fed up with d***s for a couple of days after that!" We burst out laughing again and find ourselves back at the house. Despite the playful tone of the conversation, it has made me think. Do I want to be a horny mess begging to be taken over and over? No, not the first time. I want to be me! I want to be conscious and feel everything, not just physically. Walking up to my room on the second floor, we are both deep in thoughts.  "I'm glad you're here!" Aida whispers as we reach my door.  "Me too!" I say while giving her a tight hug. "You can stay as long as you want! You are always welcome!" She whispers, still in my embrace. We say goodnight, and I sneak into my room not to wake Jacob and Lucas. Jacob's POV The Summermoon is one friendly pack. I guess wolfpacks become like their leaders, and the Whites are just about the nice's persons on the planet. Luna Aida and little Molly have taken Sofia under their wings, and Sofia seems happy about the distraction.  Lucas, David, and I are currently seated in their backyard. Like my brother, David prefers whisky on summer evenings. So with the sun slowly setting, we enjoy our drinks, sipping on them in the temporary stillness.  "Owen told me about the plans on getting her things from the house. He is going to accompany you tomorrow! Is everything set for the funeral?" David asks, studying me over his glass. "I think everything is in order. Lucas has been home with her a lot more than me!" I answer and bounce over the question to Luc. He is relaxin whit his eyes closed but coughs and looks up at us when he hears his name. "Yes, everything is in order. The extended family has been planning and helping her, handling the practical parts. And we're hoping that the media will keep away during the ceremony." Both David and I nod at that. "We are grateful for Owen's help during this!" I admit. We would have been swamped with nosy trespassing reporters if we were to handle it. Now they don't know where she is, for now at least. "Of course! I have always gotten along with John, and she is one of us now. Besides, she was taken by one of our kind right under my nose. I have to admit feeling somewhat guilty. We knew there was a rough in this area, but we failed to put the pieces together." He states and takes a new sip on his whisky.  "She tries to convince herself that this had to be, that this had to happen for her to find us. I'm not sure if she's managed to persuade herself fully yet!" Lucas sighs, surprising me. I didn't know she felt like that. Not that the thought hasn't crossed my mind. But still. Maybe he is right. She might need to think like that to cope with this. All of it! David's eyes clouds over, a sign of mind-linking. "Our Ladies are taking an evening stroll!" He informs us. A tug in my legs tries to force me up to go after her. Gazing over at Luc, I see a twitch in his fingers telling me he is experiencing the same thing. But we both stay put. "At eas gentlemen, They are safe!" He promises, "my lovely mate and I have an understanding. I pretend I let her wander about by herself, and she pretends that she has no idea about the guards keeping an eye on her!"  We both release a sigh of relief, and the tugging in my legs eas up. *** As we stand to leave for the night and go to bed Sofia isn't back yet. But David assured us that they were heading back. And that they would be home soon. He also informed us that training begins at five if we are interested to keep up with our rutin. Our room is large with an on-suite and a kingsize bed in our bedroom, just like home, and we take our sides. She will be embedded in the middle, just as we want it. The room feels empty without her. And lying in bed with my best friend is fine when she is with us but without her, it's just weird! As the doors open, we hear her giggle with Luna White. They whisper to one another before she sneaks in and heads for the bathroom.  "We are awake, honey! No need to sneak around..." Luc yawns in the dark.  "Oh, hi!" She whispers, "have you been waiting long?" "Nah, but we miss you. Come to bed!" I say, trying to stifle a yawn of my own. Blue peek up in my mind by her presence. He pushes forward and takes deep breaths filling my nostrils with her scent. It's intoxicating in a way. The air in our room becomes so thick by her scent it's like you could reach out and touch it. Something is new about it, it's more noticeable, more intense! But I can't put my finger on it. Lucas suddenly stands up and rushes over to the bathroom. As he opens the door, the scent of her flows out like a wave of water and washes over us. Oh, goddess! She smells like heaven. My whole body tingles, and Blue stirs in my mind. I move like in a haze towards the bathroom. Only to see him holding her in his arms from behind, he caresses her neck with his nose, breathing in her scent. She leans in against him, allowing him to touch her everywhere. I take deep breaths to steady myself, but it results in the exact opposite. I feel myself harden, and Blue battles me for control. "How long is it since you bleed, honey?" Luc murmur in her ear. "Why?" She moans.  "Tell me!" he groans while kissing her along her neck down to her shoulder. I walk up to them and stand in front of her. I nuzzled her and put my hands on her hips and place kisses all over her face making her giggle.  "I don't know. Two weeks maybe, why?" "You're ovulating!" He grones, sending shivers down her body. Blue begins to purr and grab her by her thighs, lifting her.
